A lot of people still donate after they do the challenge, I think it's a good thing since it gets more awareness and donations. I know a lot of people think it's stupid but if it helps with funding and awareness I'm all for it. I let me 3 year old son do it for me this time but I did do the cold water challenge a couple months ago but that was more of a local fire department thing

Ok I will check into that, they didn't mention anything on the phone but I know that doesn't mean anything. Main reason I wanted power was mostly for the heat in winter, slept a couple nights last season with it being 12 degrees lol. I have a propane heater but I don't trust leaving it on and sleeping, that's from being a firefighter also and paranoid about carbon monoxide

I've only had land for two years and only really use a couple times for hunting. So I haven't really looked around in the area. There is a lumber yard I pass after cario so maybe I could look there. It needs to be pressure treated and min class 7,all the wood I've seen there are just logs and 2x4 driving by

I will try that, thanks. I would've thought they would have some local companies that they recommend or work with. Will have to talk to a field planner, one was supposed to call me back sometime this week but hasn't yet. The worse part is they only need to run from one side of the road to the other, I checked out all the specs I need for height and such and now just need a pole. Then after that I can figure out how to get a 7 foot guide rod into the ground lol

My issue is I only have a camper on the land, since I don't have a building they said it's a temp service and would cost me $800 for them to run the power. But same issue is they won't install the pole because it counts as a temp service. They don't make it to easy to do this stuff. I had to get a 911 address first which took a couple weeks, now next step is the pole. I am an electrician in nj but never had to get or install a pole. I couldn't find anything local on the internet and takes national grid a week or so to answer me back. I don't have any plans in the near future to build a cabin so that's why I'm just going to do the temp so I have power and can make it up if I ever sell

I have land in canajoharie and working on getting electric to it. I need to install a utility pole either 25 foot or 30 foot. I'm having trouble trying to figure out where to get one or someone that installs them. I will install myself if I need to but does anyone know where to get a pole or a company that I could just purchase and have them install. Thanks

24 years on my own after I was 10, but went with my dad before that and sat with him

That's a couple towns away from my house in nj, there's another video of it in someone's back yard, something wrong with front paw

Questions about buying land
Mustang51js replied to TheHeavyHand's topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
I bought land a year ago and the biggest issue was getting financed, no banks want to give you a loan because it's to high risk so ended up getting land with a land company that does it's own financing. Christmas and associates, landandcamps.com -
What's the sticker say on the trunk. Could be a news person monitoring all the police and fire frequencies or a county official for fire, police. Usually each radio band has a different length anntenea, with cd radio being the tallest.

I know it's nj but we had to shoot 3 out of 5 clay birds, that was 23 years ago and they still shoot today,I went with my friend to get his. I also had to load and shoot a muzzloader when I took that test. Bow had to hit the vitals 3 times
-
I'm sure the Russians will ruin it
-
So in ny you don't have to take a test for muzzleloader. In nj you can use the crossbow but need archery license, muzzleloader here you have to take a test for that like you would a bow license. Doesn't make sense since you can have someone with no bow experience use a crossbow now.

Defending his rights or avoiding taxes?
Mustang51js replied to Elmo's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Some things I heard was that it was his families land that was seized by the government and then told he has to pay fees to keep his cattle on it. -
Same here,my problem is the ground is so wet at this time of year. I've been trying to cut some trees down to get sunlight in to help.
-
Why not look into a slug barrel for the 20 gauge, I don't see it kicking any harder than a 270
-
They have had this in nj for last year or so and it's really not that big of a deal. All it really does it get more people into the sport and let's people hunt that couldn't pull a bow back because of injury or disability. From what I noticed most of the people using the crossbow are people that hunted with a compound before crossbow was legal.
-
That thing is cool

If some one is stupid enough to shoot in their yard knowing there's people behind the backstop or they point a weapon at people they don't deserve to have there hunting rights and their weapons. It's the same respect for guns and pointing them at things you only intend to shoot goes for bows also. I target shoot in my back yard and don't even shoot where people would be walking behind my target but I still stop shooting if I hear people walking down the road just so there's no issues. If someone can't control themselves to make an ethical shot on a deer then they shouldn't be hunting.
-
With two people you could easily look for deer and then push them to where you are sitting. Not really hunting in my opinion
-
Is it legal to target practice in my backyard
Mustang51js replied to faust1578's topic in Bow Hunting
Have to check if there's a no discharge ordinance in your town also. I shoot in my yard all the time but always put a sheet of plywood behind the target just in case. My van is on the other side of the fence. -
We have this in nj for a year or so now and haven't heard of any issues with it.
-
I had a Matthews switchback xlt and just bought a bowtech insanity cxp, I love the bowtech so far, only downside is it's a little longer and heavier than my Matthews but doesn't bother me

Usually if you spin them around where you want them to go it makes them go,like make him walk in small circles not spin him like a top lol.

I am an electrician and you get used to it,I try to plan less stuff outside but usually most of my work in winter is outside and summertime I am in attics lol. It always gets slow in winter since people don't do much work on houses. Most of my work lately is generators and small stuff
