  1. So I just received the second one ring and hangup phone call on my cell phone. Someone told me that they try and get you to call back and somehow whack you with charges. Not sure how it works or the truth to this matter but just throwing this out there in case it's truly a scam. A minute ago was VT on caller ID and the other day TX. Generally if a name associated with # doesn't come up on caller ID I'm not answering anyhow.

    This article on caller ID spoofing at Callercenter should help you understand how nuisance callers are able to change or fake their phone numbers and location. 

  2. It's only a computer based calling rig. If you don't answer fast enough or some other blokes answer quicker, it hangs up on you.

    I get 6-8 a day as I have three numbers call forwarded to my cell.

    Trust me........

     

    That's what I thought, too. And their location changing from TX to VT, it looks like the caller was spoofing caller IDs. The phone number is probably fake.
