  1. Just curious on what everyone does during the off season in preparation for the up coming deer season... Trimming lanes/trails, hanging new treestand, up keep on existing treestands, food plots... Think im heading down next week to get some trees chopped down for fire wood/making new lanes for new treestands. And im just getting that "itch" to get down there and start working on the land. Not to mention the cabin up keep and maintenance... We plan on building a new deer hanger,(old one was just an old oak tree we had a few pulleys bolted to) pour new piers for and extention to the cabin. And what ever else pops in my head while I'm working. I'm always thinking of something new.

    Water levels

Heading down to the southerntier tomorrow to do some trout fishing. (franklinville, arcade area). How are the water levels ,color and flow?
  3. Nice!! I shot a decent 5pt there 2 weeks ago. Up by sour springs
  4. Thanks guys. Yeah this is actually my first time bowhunting again since they changed the opener to the 1st. Definitely a lot foliage. Big difference from what I remembered. It's good to get out regardless tho
  5. Yeah. That's kind of what I was thinking. With my gun, I'll go through whatever, but my bow, specially with it being new I guess I was just kinda being cautions about it. ( string, sights, cam etc.) But I keep my string waxed and protect my bow the best I can. That's all u can really do I guess. I shot it when I got home and everything seemed good to me, so whatever.... Thanks
  6. So I was just wondering everyone's opinion on bushwacking with a bow? Where I normally hunt we have decent trails going to treestands, so it's never really been and issue. But recently I went to some state land with a friend just for gigs and at times i was going through some pretty thick stuff. Obviously I was protecting my bow/slights the best i could while going through... But I guess I'm just wondering in a situation like that, do u guys tend to be influenced by the easiest path bc u have a bow, rather then the direction u wanted to go regardless of thickness?
  7. Went to the Alabama Swamps today for a change of pace from my regular hunting spots. Alot of great deer signs. Had 3 doe walk up under my stand. That was about it ..acorns falling pretty much non-stop, dam squirrels everywhere. Its was ridiculous.. Hoping to get back out tomorrow.
