Anywhoo - this is the actual penalty: Fine: zero to $250 Imprisonment: zero to 15 days Civil Penalty: $10 to $100 So the max you're looking at is $350 and 15 days in jail. No judge in their right mind will send someone to jail for a first time misdemeanor like that. Also, they don't usually give the max fine either.
