My first and still best knife was given to me when I turned 13 and I will be 53 in March and it has Gutted, Skinned and Boned many, many deer is my Buck 110 it has always held a very sharp edge and also been sharpened after every deer. My second knife is an Uncle Henry Scharde Filet which is always sharp and always sharpened. If you keep your knives sharp it is very to maintain an edge, it is when you neglect to keep them sharp, abuse misuse them like a screwdriver

I forgot to mention that I do a final boil with fresh clean water and a cup of Borax ( remember mule team tough) for about an hour then I do the Matrix thing.

I have 3 skulls boiling. I boiled the hide off and some of the inners out and turned off the flame and they are soaking tonight. I will boil them again tomorrow and pick some of the inners out and make sure the membrane is off the skull and then I will apply Matrix Solite Cream 40V brush it on with an old toothbrush sit for 3-5 minutes and rinse off with clean hot water. Presto Bright White Skull I use a galvanized steel tub with my propane open flame Turkey fryer cooker under neither a steel wheel off a tractor trailer sitting on 2 cap blocks to capture all the heat under the tub. Has worked great for many years.

I prefer to stay local and hunt my own turf and will not hunt any fenced animals. When I was younger I was raised in south Florida and let me tell you, there was nothing like some good Ole Free Ranging wild boar pulled pork sandwiches on a garlic Italian bread. Same here. Skin it ASAP to allow the body heat to escape. I like to let it hang in 40-35 degree temps for about 5 - 6 days then finish butchering and packing for the freezer.

First Blood with the Tenpoint Venom.

I know one thing my brand New Glendale Buck got slammed in the back yard the other night. The stack that you drive into the ground the rear one was bend almost to a complete 90 degree and the front one was bend to about a 30 degree. The left rear hind quarter has a gouge about 11-12" long. I wise I had my trail camera on it.

If you wasn't so far away I would love to join you with that shoot off.

Same here at 3H bachelors are still together with some lite chasing. Seen a nice 7 point last night but only came into 73 yards.

I know you are trying to be conservitive but the Venom Tenpoint shoots right out of the box no adjustments needed from 20-60 yards. AWSOME BOW and I am glad I own one.
