  1. Pine Ridge Scope 4-12x40mm looking for $50 picked up or $60 shipped. Came free when i bought my 30-06 I shot less than 20 shots thru the gun with this scope on it and my wife bought me a BDC scope. it included weaver rings. 315-402-5-six- six - six i will e-mail or text pics if you want them. Tom
  2. I might be in. I am off of work this weekend and wouldn't mind some hunting before bow season opens up. but i think my old airgun is probably too slow for anything but paper at this point. I got it about 12 or 13 years ago its an old daisy pump. I am surprised it still works but i think it does have a small leak in the air chamber starting. Anyone got any advice on a decent air gun around or under $100? maybe even somthing from walmart? Tom
  3. if your willing to drop the price I would take it. I am thinking $300
  4. I have a black hawk axiom stock for the Ruger 10/22 I bought it for my wife to get used to shooting my ar 15. she liked the regular stock better so I took this off after one use and it has been sitting since june. It is foilage green axiom stock from black hawk. I paid $75 for the stock alone, 15ish for the front grip and 10 for the rail I mounted on the underside to hook the front grip too also could put a bi pod or other underside attachments. This is the only stock i am aware of for the 10/22 that free floats the barrel. With me shooting this at 50 yards I was getting dime sized groups with white box ammo off a rest. I am looking for $65 Shipped to your door or $55 pickup I am in Oswego County. This is like new used one time. I can text you some pictures of it my phone wont hook to my computer to post pictures... This is the Stock, grip, and rail ONLY! Post here or call or text. 315-402-five-six-six-six
  5. Yeah it does seem like the first one is the hardest, Been hunting for only about 3 years now still no kills in my county there has been no doe tags until this year and shot over a 6 with my bow last year. This year I havn't had any luck but looking to fill the freezer with a vengence. Any buck that I end up shooting will be put on the wall since he will be my first.
  6. I would like to leave him but this is a hunting club property. I have been hunting only 3 years and have never killed a whitetail up to this point. I am the only club member who hunts bow and there is about 8-10 of us who hunt it during gun season. I think if he gives me a chance he would make a nice first buck any opinions on that or should i leave him and just shoot a doe to fill the freezer and hope no one else takes him during gun.
  7. I snapped this pic of an 8 after finding a bunch of scapes and rubs in the area... Let me know what ya think.
  8. I usually hunt right here in central NY but i have got the itch to get out real bad this year and my job gave me the 9/28 - 10/2 off of work for a "fall break"... so i figured i might be able to do some big game hunting up in northern zone... but since i have never been up there if anyone can point me to some state land that is OK to hunt would be cool. any direction or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom
  9. what kind of .22-250 is it? so i can at least look up the spec. but monday is cool because i wont be even thinking about using it until after deer season. Tom
  10. I would be sitting and calling so weight would not be a huge issue got any pictures and how much are you looking to get for it? Tom
  11. thats what i had figured and they were trying to assure me it wouldn't scare them off... I dont ever duck or goose hunt but they are big duck and goose hunters... i like venison way more!
  12. A couple buddies and myself were considering hunting duck and geese in the pond on my property this weekend but i got to thinking it would possibly scare the deer and since i havn't put a deer in my freezer yet... it concerns me. let me know what ya think, Tom
  13. they seem like a novelty item to me... i wonder if they really work that well...?
  14. I am looking to stop throwing shotgun ammo and beating up my shoulder for coyotes so if anyone has a .223 rifle either an AR -15 or a bolt action .223 either one would work for me .... Post what ya got Pictures would be really nice. also I am a big Rem Fan so a 700 or ar-15 from them would be outstanding, but i would buy just about any brand .223
  15. I just pulled out my NY Hunting and Trapping mag. and found the "legal implements for regular deer season map. since I hunt 7a in sterling... it looks like according to the map in the back sterling is in oswego county but it looks like on the legal implements it looks like it is in cayuga... according to online maps Sterling is in cayuga county... I just bought the rifle this year... I guess that was a "waste of Money" in a sense... anyone looking to buy a Winchester M70 30-06 fired 20 times with a pine ridge 4-12x scope? Tom
  16. Like the title says if ya got one Let me know. Thanks, Tom
  17. i was under the impression that Southrn zone rifle is now OK am i wrong?
  18. I don't own any property. i am a member of a gun club with 300ish acres and hunt a couple of farms (70ish acres) so i have permission to put up a tree stand at the gun club but the last two years 18 tree stands have went "missing" and i dont think the woodland creatures are taking them. so I bought a Primetime Lite Climber from Dicks on sale for $150 it is regulary 250 it is almost identical to the Summit Viper SS. just with a more appealing price tag. what i found out by using this stand(my first stand i have ever bought) is that i am afraid of heights... it has nothing to do with the stand... i went to a friends house to try his ladder stand after trying my climber and i got the same shakes at 15ft ladder stand as i did at 12-15 ft with the climber... the climber seems very secure but it dosnt really help me when i look down at my bow to pull it up. I have used the climber 3 times now once in my yard and 2 times hunting... hopfully the height fear will do away and i can get up to 20 feet like you experience guys. as far as saftey as long as you properly use your harness(I Do) I would imagine your as safe as you can be when your 20 foot in the air. any suggestions on how to get over the heights fear... PM ME!
  19. i learned about this a couple months ago myself... and i called william barclay and Darrel auburtines office... both of them PERSONALLY returned my phone call and stated their disgust for these people posting this information and are working on trying to get those record to be Private. However they said the more people complain to their Local government officials the easier it will be. so I HIGHLY suggest everyone call, e-mail, write and let them know where you stand on it and tell them they will gain a vote if they work on making these records private. Politicians work for votes and with politics the sqeeky wheel always get the oil... so Speak up and let your politicians know!
  20. I like Slick tricks for anything with Bow hunting they are nasty broadheads and leave a nice "slug sized" hole. granted i have never had the chance to try one on a turkey. http://www.slicktrick.net/ a guy at bass pro shops suggested them to me... They look small... but they fly just like a field point (actually slightly tighter groups) on my bow and leave a good hole. I suggested my local archery shop start carrying them. he bought 6 packs and 2 for me and the six packs he sold and he said he can not keep them in stock since then... in fact he gave me a $20 gift card for telling him about them... so they must do somthing right.
  21. Nice bird anytime a a legit animal is harvested and food goes on the table you should be happy. your still 2 birds ahead of me... i have been hunting turkey for 2 years now... I had a Tom real hot for me in the spring(mid may) he was coming in pretty fast at about 85-90 yards and then a coyote came out of the woods about 10 yards to the left of me and i didn't see that tom again for the rest of the season and still havn't seen him...
  22. Yeah i didn't realize you got 2 tags that were good for both Muzzle and Bow if you bought Super Sportsman... since i dont hunt muzzle... I just got big/small game, Bow, Turkey and DMP. it saved me $10 doing it that way but i guess i lost an extra bow tag :-( I guess there is always next year!
  23. Hey everyone, I have a Bow Tag either sex and a DMP if i were to take a doe should i use the Bow tag or the DMP? I am thinking DMP so i still have a chance at a buck during bow season... Let me know all your opinions... First year DMPs have ever been available in my area so this whole DMP decisions are new to me... Tom
