  1. i see them in the back field during the day often during the day, both fox and coyote. it seems last season was a bumper year for both fox and coons as i saw tons of them, way more than normal. as for coyotes they have been heavy here for several years now. hardly any fawns make it here it seems

  2. I usually go up to moose river plains every year, or up to my buddy's cabin on otter lake to go bear hunting. have not seen a shooter yet. this year i am thinking of going up for grouse and hares, as i see loads of them every time i am up there.so, i think this year will be a small game hunt with airguns( and i know damn well i will see a 400lb black bear just because i am carrying an air rifle!!!)  LOL

  3. i have used a 22-250 to take deer on several occassions. it works, but i prefer a larger caliber myself. last season i picked up a .280 remington and i really dig it so far dropped my buck in its tracks at about 230yds last season

  4. yeah we have some big ones. my uncle manages his 400+ acres for deer in howard and they take some monsters there as well. when it comes to deer, i am just a meat hunter. i have taken some decent bucks, but my passion is varmint, predator and small game hunting. I like hunting predators the most, with small game a close second. basically i only hunt deer to fill the freezer.....and because it is another excuse to be in the woods! ;)

  5. This one is an airforce condor in .25 caliber. it has a modified valve as well as some other work done to it. it will do over 120 ft lbs with slugs. right now i am working with 52 gr soft cast slugs right at 1000fps or so, with room to go on the power adjustment wheel. i am working on getting some swaged slugs sized to different diameters, they are pure lead and i think they will do better. also am in the process of getting a green mountain 27 inch bull barrel in .257 caliber turned for it as well as a heavier hammer made of brass, once the work i'm hoping to do on it is complete, i should be able to reach the 170ft lb range. the second gun is a modified talon ss with a 24inch barrel and shroud. the chuck was from last year, taken at about 75 yds. note the surgical placement, key with an airgun. i keep this one set on low power and it spits a 14.3 gr crosman premier at about 1100fps.

  6. i dont do much group shooting, but it will keep all ten in a quarter at that distance, better if i use more precise pellets like jsb or H&N, but i set the gun up for fox originally and that pellet proved more than accurate for the 40 yards or so that i try to limit myself on predators with a .22 caliber, and i was looking for good penetration. as for energy, it work out to a tad over 44fpe...Also, i am about as far from urban as you can get. though i do live on the outskirts of a village. there is plenty of room here.i am in dairy farm country

  7. i eat the younger ones. they are good eating if cooked correctly, you need to remove the glands and as much fat as possible. i used to hunt them hard core up till a few years ago, and would take 100+ a season. when the coyote population exploded, they became really hard to find in my farmland haunts. now i usually only see them close to outbuildings or houses, so i mostly hunt them with an airgun now
