How many of you guys run hounds? Anybody have any dogs with flat creek or willow run in them?

Probably hunkered down in the thickest stuff available near where the cam is.
Or near where you have been seeing them!
Real nice bucks. Good luck, there's still time!
Hope so, If not this year, next year i will definitely be putting all my time into this spot for one of these guys haha

So I picked up a new hunting spot in the beginning of the season and first thing I did was set cams up. I set camera up in this one spot and was getting pictures of nice bucks during the day and night until around middle of November.. now since middle of November I haven’t gotten any pics of them except a couple doe and spikes. I know they are still alive because I’ve just recently seen them in the area. Is it that they just use that spot where the camera is in the early season and late season they are somewhere else ?

Look way beyond the area he shot at him for the arrow. were there full length hairs or were they only cut hairs?
They were full length hairs

Buddy shot a buck broadside at about 50yards with crossbow. Shot was low. When arrow hit buck jumped up and Mule kicked. Ran off about 60 yards and stopped and started walking. Checked where he was shot and can’t find arrow but found a bunch of white hair. We are waiting an hour or 2 before looking. What do you guys think

Thank you guys all for the help! He weighed out to about 170. So it was hard finding blood on him where I shot him because he was in a swampy area and with all the water from the rain it was even harder. So we looked and looked couldn’t find blood or arrow. Then we started looking where I last seen him run in at and it was dry ground. After a couple mins my buddy found blood. Nice bright blood with bubbles in it and a lot of it! So the track was on. There was so much blood after finding first blood even my colorblind ass could track him haha. He was laid up about 70 yards. The shot was a high lung and came out on shoulder blade that’s why I believe the arrow was sticking out of him when I shot him.

Looking right now. I’m in a swampy area so it’s hard to look. Hoping arrow didn’t fall into water. Plus I’m color blind so that doesn’t make it any better. Waiting on a buddy to get here and help

Shot a nice 8pt this morning and when I shot him I misjudged yardage and hit him a little high. When he took off, he took off hard and fast, my arrow was sticking out of him and then fell out after he started running. He ran into some thick stuff and sounded like he was falling when he was running. Not sure tho because I couldn’t see him. Haven’t gotten down yet to look for arrow. What do you guys think? Low chance of recovering him?

let me caution you. Shoot the bow without your glasses before you hunt without them. I wore glasses frequently and hunted with them for a couple years. It was misty one day and I took them off. I missed a shot a a doe at 30 yards. I went back to the house and shot at the target and I was off about what I missed by. I was cold and wet so I hung up the bow and was going to resight it in the next morning. Nice day. Walked out and had my glasses on and it was dead on. after much head scratching and testing it was the glasses. my form has my right eye looking down the bridge of my nose and out the far left side of the right eye lens. That area of the lens was not ground like the middle and actually was refracting the light. I could not hold the same POI with them on and off. SO I don't wear them now.
So when I shoot my bow with my glasses I can blowout the bullseye every time with tight grouping. Then if I shoot my bow without my glasses on I shoot to the left about 3/4 inches but the height is still perfect. It’s the craziest thing

I’m thinking about wearing my glasses during bow season this year, but I’m worried about the deer seeing them. Has anybody ever had this problem? I’ve heard people say they saw the reflection and the deer take off

Best of luck to you! Would love to see ya put him on the ground. Then you could give us the "actual score". Not that it matters, he's a trophy regardless.
Any way you can hunt higher up on the mountain, where the bucks are bedding? To be up there before light, when they make their way up?
That’s exactly what I’m going to have to do. Every bucks i shot off that property has been deep in the mountain. It’s a hell of a hike up.. usually soaking wet in sweat lol but it’s worth shooting a trophy up there

Battery life was and is my concern, your results could sway me either way. Keep me posted.
Be nice to see that Buck mounted on a wall !!
I’ll definitely keep you updated on the camera and let you know if it gives me any trouble. So far I love it, it also has a feature where when you are going threw 100’s of picture you can hit a button and it will only show you pictures of bucks which I thought was really cool

No matter what he scores, that's a beautiful buck! Think you're right in the ballpark with your guesstimate of 120.
Absolutely, I hope I get a chance to connect with him this year. This spot is tricky. It’s vegetable farm that borders a mountain and once deer season starts bucks stay deep in the mountain until late January. Hoping he makes a mistake opening day haha

Looks to be a big one for sure, how is battery life been treating you on that evo. I've been eyeing it myself for around 225.00 then a few discounts I can get for under 200
I picked it up for $190. I’ve had it for about a week know and set it up to send me pics instantly and camera is still on 100% battery life. I was skeptical on buying it after reading reviews on them but for the price of the more expensive ones I figured I’d give this one a try. I’m pretty happy with it so far.

HELP! New to muzzleloaders
in Muzzleloaders

So I just got my first muzzleloader ever. It’s a traditions buckstalker xt combo with scope. I have no experience with muzzys ever and this is all new to me. I usually only rifle hunt. My question for you guys is how do I go about sighting it in? The scope is 3-9x40 scope.. how far do I start sighting it in from? The manual tells me the gun is accurate up to 200 yards.. but I don’t know how far I should fight sight it in for. Thanks in advance
