Assuming you know what I was asking, whats up with the dick response?
Didn't know what you were asking. Your question did not make any sense so you got a dick response.

Nice day here in Eastern NY also. Went small game hunting with my cousins. I haven't done that in probably 10 years.
Kicked out a pheasant and some grouse. Got a shot at a grouse.
Going hungry tonight

Dead zone where I live. Geese are gone and very few waterfowl on the lake I hunt. Put the boat and layout blind away for the season.
Going small game hunting with my cousins tomorrow.
Good luck. Post pictures. Everyone likes pictures.

I have had most of my successful hunts in fields. Below is a hunt from last spring.

Good luck on your up coming turkey season. For me, spring turkey hunting is my favorite. If you get bored, you can check out my hunts on you tube - New York Outdoors.
I'll be hunting in Georgia in early April this coming year. Can't wait.

Taken from the DEC we site.
To hunt - means to pursue, shoot, kill or capture (other than trap) wildlife and includes all lesser acts that disturb or worry wildlife whether or not they result in taking. Hunting also includes all acts to assist another person in taking wildlife.
I might re-think the rubber buck shot thing. Just Sayin'

You guys are a bunch of thankless SOB's. JHC, I'm pointing out .22 ammo that has been damn near impossible to find and all you do is dig it down?
They had probably 50 buckets sitting there THEN. Sorry if it wasn't there the the day before......I'll try harder next time.
Dirty ammo? OK, what did you buy in place of it?
You stocked up years ago huh? "Aren't you the Man Who See's The Future", I hope while you were stocking up on .22 ammo you were buying Apple stock at $4.57/share 10 years ago or maybe it was McDonald's 40 years ago?
That price ($69.99 for 1400ct bucket) works out to $25 a brick plus tax. Please let me and the rest of the folks here know where to get it for a similar price today?
I appreciate that you let us know about the 22's. I just don't shop at Dicks because they did not have TRAP loads when they advertised them during the fall. If I found 22's in another store I probably would have bought a bucket or two to add to the ones I bought in Maine last year. I have shot Remington's in my autoloader for years and did not have any problems.

I no longer shop at Dicks. I am fed up with them not having advertised items or when they do, they do not have the quantity I want.
I told the manager of the Wilton Mall Dicks that I would not shop there any more after he was not willing to pull some flats of trap loads from other stores.

Check out Cabelas neoprene line of waders. I have two pair, 1600 gram for cold water hunting and 1000 gram for early season up to November.
Very warm and comfortable.

Congrats Don! I have to find a good corn field to kill some mallards in. Unfortunately all my geese are killed in the field and all my ducks are killed over the water.
This the first time we have killed mallards over corn in many years. They were fresh migrators and pounded that field for several days straight.
I wanted to hunt 'toga tomorrow but it is iced in by the launch so that does it for the year on the lake.
May hunt geese on Sunday if I can find some birds.

How many decoys are you running?

We had marinated back strap at my cousins camp on Saturday night.
Back straps were marinated in Italian dressing, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce over night. Pan fried in the marinade and sliced when medium rare. Serve with Heinz brown gravy with mushrooms over egg noodles. Side of home made apple sauce.
It was great. Good thing because I didn't see a deer on Saturday or Sunday. Just old tracks.

We had a good hunt on Saturday. Hunted my buddy's pond with some of the New York Outdoors pro staff.

I dressed warm this morning. Hunted geese from a pit blind so it was nice. The wind was blowing strong from the north.
Great morning to drink coffee and choke down a blueberry muffin. Especially since I
never even pulled the trigger.

The regular goose season opens in the Hudson Valley zone on Saturday. I scouted some of the
recently cut corn fields and we are covered up with geese. I even saw six snow geese in with about300 Canada geese this morning.
It has been raining pretty heavy around here for the past few days and the fields are a muddy mess
I guess I will be a muddy mess on Saturday but that is fine with me ;>)
I'll try to run some video.

Thats a good hunt!
Forgive my ignorance, blue wing or green wing teal? I've only killed a few ever and it was 25 years ago. I guess they are gone around here when the season opens??
They were green wing teal. I very rarely kill a blue wing teal since they migrate pretty early.
They are fun to shoot because they are sporty little guys. One thing you will notice is that teal will spring straight up after the first shot.
Hopefully the first shot puts one on the water ;.)

Great that you got a buck. I could have slept in this morning but that would have left
my buddy at the launch with no one to hunt with. I'll post the story.

I took a vacation day on Friday and went out to a lake close to my house. Never touched the trigger.
That being said, I went looking for turkeys this morning and got wet. I did see three
birds but could not get them to come into range.
Hunting the lake tomorrow out of my blind with a buddy of mine. It is supposed to be
cooler with a NW wind which is great for hunting my blind
