So I got the chance to do some scouting in Bonaparte's Cave State Forest off from Corbine Rd this past weekend. There's a pretty good supply of Hickory trees in there that have dropped a lot of nuts on the ground; a few beech trees but none of them were mature enough to be producing nuts in great supply yet. Squirrels have been all over the Hickory nuts; lots of empty husks everywhere. Unfortunately it was really windy so the critters were hunkered down. I saw a handful of reds; they're lucky I was chasing greys.
