Got my first today also. Called in with bluetooth speaker and app on IPhone. Was only calling for 30 minutes after sitting quiet for an hour or so. Shot at 68-70 yards with 223 Savage Axis in Putnam County 3N. Large mature male. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You will need to go to the county clerks office and check the current deed of the property your considering. Look for any recital of an easement of access for ingress and egress. If its not on current deed search the property and go back at least 40-60 years looking for a recital of an access easement. If that doesnt turn up anything then you should do the same for any adjoining parcel to see if they are subject to an easement for access to your parcel. Also check filed maps and survey and tax maps. If you have physically walked the property and found a road or trail that gives access to your parcel but there is no record of it officially in the records and no adjoining owner is willing to give you an easement then you would have to get the courts involved. No land in New York state can be legally landlocked. An adjoining owner must be willing to grant it or a court will do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just completed a 600 mile round trip from lower Dutchess county to Canton New York, St. Lawrence county and the only road kill I saw was one in Stormville. Also didnt see any live deer...not a one!! Thought it was odd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Year 1985. Ithaca 37 Deerslayer 20ga. Remington slugs. Walked up on a bedded spike after an ice storm. Broadside heart shot. Ran 50-60 yds. Took 9 years to get first deer. Still have the gun but mostly sits in safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

T/C Pro Hunter FX 50 cal. Leupold 3x9 BDC scope BH 110gr. Volume, 77 gr. by weight Hornady 300gr. XTP Harvester E-Z, or Crush Rib sabot Winchester 209 Traditions Vortek LDR 50 cal. Nikon Pro Staff 3x9 BDC scope Same load as above. Tack driver at 100 yds. Last 2 seasons I dropped it and knocked the scope off. Dropped it on opening day this year. Later in week took a 100 yd shot at a coffee cup, was off by over a foot. 2 years in row had to retire early in season. It has no front sight so leaning against a tree is risky. Never dropped a gun before this one. Have taken many deer over the years with Tompson. Haven't had a chance to bag anything with the Traditions. Looking forward to next year. Never seen reloading supplies at Dicks or Walmart. Yes my breech plugs were clear the few times it's happened. I've used the drill bit method to clean the plugs. Would just like to try a hotter primer as recommended by blackhorn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
