  1. When dealing with that much funding it would be nice if they were more financially transparent.
  2. DEC NY web site says "Approximately 1.2 million people purchase hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses each year, and sporting license sales generate approximately $42 million annually in revenue used to manage New York's fish and wildlife resources and their habitats, as well as to improve access to those resources." How ever they don't give a break down of where the money is going. How much does it actually cost to maintain a wilderness area? Probably not $42 million.....
  3. after salting the hide what product do you use for tanning. I've heard different methods like denatured alcohol and turpentine.
  4. Yeah and now with legalized pot they'll all be too paranoid to go outside.
  5. Going squirrel hunting in dutchess county on saturday. any one wanna go? I'm going to the layfayette multi use area in northern dutchess. Let me know.....
  6. Not sure if any ones interested but I like seeing "the numbers" on certain things and its interesting to see how many hunting licenses sold from the 1950's to Today. Its interesting to see what the cost was and how many hunters were active for the year. Hunters contributed 821 million dollars to conservation through licenses and fee's in 2015 http://wsfrprograms.fws.gov/Subpages/LicenseInfo/Hunting.htm
  7. Both of those punks are walker bait. Whats with that kid trying to kill carl. In the zombie apocalypse and theres only one turtle eating freaky chic, you gotta share!
  8. Any one have experience with E-callers? I have a little bluetooth boom box that gets pretty darn loud. My thought was to use it as a wireless game call. I pulled up a few apps on my phone for game calls and it sounds good to me. Primos even has a app that covers all the calls. At medium volume the boom box will go for most of the day. has a carry handle and strap mounts. I'll post a link to the boom box I have. It was $99.99 new and works great. http://gprojectgear.com/products/g-boom Thanks guys!
  9. I'm all about the eating, I Bbq every day off I have. Congrats on the food procurement none the less
  10. exactly. I used to have a couple marlin model 60's and sold em. In wally world they had one and I asked to look at it. That thing felt so cheap when working the action. They really don't make them like they used to.
  11. Thats awesome! I love a good .22 . I've owned all sorts of them and by far the bolt actions were my favorite. Let me know how it goes at the range with it. Pictures please!
  12. I love working on a project gun. This was a cheap gun I picked up because it had aweful blueing and hadn't been cleaned in probably 20 years. I stripped all the blueing and worked the metal to take out all the dings. Used Steel wool and metal polish and its my new wall hanger. It still functions but its kinda spooky. Its a Remington Mohawk 48 from the early 70's.
  13. Nice , I need to get at least one this year. Well done!
  14. You and me both buddy, I'm running a winchester sxp with improved cylinder choke and 1oz rifled slugs. Tax time I'm buying a 30.06 but for now you use what you got and with that kind of accuracy your good to go.

I was just going to say that here in dutchess county its shotgun only for Deer. Heres the map, and this only pertains to Deer. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/35010.html
  16. I used to have a benjamin .22 cal that was a hard hitter. only problem is that it was a 6-8 pump. other than that it was awesome. I've heard that the silent cat is good though.
  17. Ton of fat on the back, check it out https://youtu.be/Ua4nyfIMIb4
  18. Where do you hunt Galliform?
  19. Maybe the pop was the arrow hitting bone or just skin.
  20. I love a good liver and onions. Super iron!
  21. Nasty, I'd be completely turned off by any one of these things.
  22. I also like the little meat hook he used. No slipping around. That guy knows his way around a deer.
