    I was told that i could apply before im 21 if within that 6 month period ? since it can take them up to 6 months to accept or deny me. Anyone else ever hear of that? Im just wondering because at my local gunsmith he has a sign from nys saying you can apply anytime over the age of 18. But i know you wont get approved until your 21.

    Ok guys since thats out of the way is there any more info ? Is the sheriff the only place to get a application ? I know i have a slim chance of getting the pistol permit but i have a few good refrences. But i figure if i apply now by time im 21 i will be accepted ive read some of the things that happen once i return the application but i mainly get info for nyc or a different county.

    If you guys dont have any information to help out then keep to yourselfs. you long island and nyc folk aint got nothin to do in here when it says tompkins county. But tompkins sucks because they only give out restricted license's. But thank you zhe wiz. Elmo there was 40 views and not a response it why i put up my last comment.

    Has anyone gotten a pistol permit in tompkins county ? Im looking at applying soon so when i turn 21 i can purchase a pistol for target shooting. and was wondering what has to be done to get one,

    Im friends with a taxidermist and he said if it wasnt for the love of doing it he would not look at it for a career more of a side job. They really dont make a lot of profit. If you can do it yourself thats awesome and more power to you but i dont think its right it make it look like there making 600 dollar profits when its not that much.

    Gotten 2 of my toms in the field, just as others i hunt the hedge row of a field or a woodline. First turkey i ever got was on state lands in the woods. I prefer the edge of a field with a decoy.

    What a waste ! IMO that completely ruins the whole hunting standard. Why anyone would want to pen hunt is out of my world. Dosent anyone on tv get the real thrill of studying a wild deer herd and making everything they've put togather work out and get a real sucessful hunt.

    Its ridiculous because time and time again ive seen on the news of the burgler getting away scotch free well the vitcim is charged with the crime. A few months ago a guy beat the crap out of someone who broke into his house and he got charged well the burgler got off. our system is screwed up and i saw we go back to how it used to be. Everyone should own a gun if not its your own fault if something happens.

    Years ago there was talk about putting a cabelas off of exit 31 on 87. That never happend. I love the store but hate the 4 hr drive.

    I went to florida about a month ago and theres a ton of construction going on in D.C and maryland try to adviod those areas especsially during the daytime.

    But on the side note. DEC says its legal i think there full of it. I was working 1 street over when it happend and i drove by everyday looking at the area. But what can ya do.

    I know the nash family and i agree with HTR. And to whom ever said legal hunting property is slim better take a better look. Within 1/2 hour of ithaca theres over 15,000 acres of state land. Theres a 5,000 chunk right behind the nashs house in slaterville.

    Well my father was having a heart attack and when the cops went through his meds they found a loaded pistol and took it because it was loaded.
