For me it started with catching up on some rest. I often go on very little sleep during hunting season getting out as much as I can. Then I like to past this time of year getting out hiking and scouting new areas for potential stands for next year. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

I can't agree with you more. I have hunted in NC with my son with bait piles not far away. It's pretty much the standard way they hunt down there. Its definitely not my preferred way to hunt but it meant getting to hunt with my son which I seldom do anymore so that trumped everything else. I told him I'm not interested in going on any dog hunts. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

For me one thing is hunting deer with dogs. I never even really thought it was much of a thing until my Son's moved to NC. I guess it's kinda common down there and legal. I tell him that's cheating and I personally have no desire to take place in that. I don't know maybe it's just because I was born and raised hunting here in the north. I also have a reveal and I've had good luck with it. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

So it sounds like we have enough interest to get the ball rolling and I'm hoping once we get something planned that maybe a few more would decide to come. The Brewerton location would work for me I'm only a little over an hour north. It also sounds like its very easy to find. Does anyone else have any suggestions? What is everyone thinking for a time frame? I think we probably need to schedule it out at least a month or so to give others a chance to join and for people to make plans? Would a Saturday evening work ? Sunday is the best day for me but I realize it might not be best for most so I can make a Saturday work. Also I know some places close early on Sundays. Awesome we'd love to have you. I'm thinking we'll see all who chimes in and try to come up with a place that will work for everyone. Somewhere as centrally located as possible. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

Good deal! Hopefully we can get a cpl more interested and begin to put something together. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

We could shoot for a day in the winter then have a backup plan to put it off more towards spring if we have to. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

I know there's not many but numbers are always everything. I'm thinking even if we could get a small group of say 6-10 it sounds like to me it would be a great time to put a face to nicknames and really see who they are. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

So the "Bought The Farm" post has got me thinking about the possible interest in a meet and greet. I know it's been done before with, I think, pretty good success. I know we don't have as many regular contributing members as we once did but the ones we have seem to be great guys. I know in the off-season I'm always looking for hunting related things to do when I'm not scouting or hiking. I'm probably one of the farthest north guys we have here in Jefferson county but I'm willing to travel as long as it's not in whiteout conditions. Just trying to gauge the interest and maybe help get the ball rolling. Let me know if the interest is there. Thanks guys! Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

Upon further looking around on Google now I'm thinking maybe a big coyote track it doesn't really look like a bear track. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk -

So me and a cpl guys came up to the Cortland area late this morning we have doe tags for 7r for the holiday hunt. We got a 3 hr sit this afternoon and seen nothing and only heard one shot. We are hunting the pipeline Rd in the tuller hill State Forest. We seen way more predator tracks than deer tracks. We got all day tomorrow to hunt but considering going elsewhere. These are some pretty big tracks I'm thinking bear? Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk -

I would say $200 is a decent price. I never replaced the crossbow. It was a nice crossbow but I decided to just use my bow. Here in the northern tier there is only a 4 day window at the end of bow season where you could use a crossbow before muzzleloader season. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

I sold the exact same crossbow last year without the updated scope in perfect condition for $175 to a member on here . Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk

For me venison wise it was a subpar year but memories wise I can't complain. I had a chance to fill the freezer during bow when I shot over the back of a doe at about 35 yards and again on a doe during muzzleloader when the gun misfired. Once regular gun started the deer sightings went down and then around Thanksgiving we got hammered with over 3ft of snow making it hard to get to most of my spots. On the plus side I did start what I'm hoping will be a yearly tradition in renting a hunting camp for a week with a few other guys. No deer were taken but we had a great time. I also got to hunt with my youngest son and my grandson on a few hunts for the first time in a few years. That in itself made the season special. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk -

Gearing up for the last sit here in northern NY. It's not been a very productive season venison wise but still had a blast and have Alot of great memories. I'm hoping to make a little trip for the holiday hunt. Good luck to everyone going out. Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk
