After some scouting and when I put a few game camera's out in some select spots...let's hope they take some snap shots of a beauty of a buck. I just hope my crew has a better chance in the ADK's than Rangeley.

Thanks Guys. My group and I were die hard Maine Hunters. We're hoping that ADK hunting will allow most of us to see a deer and hopefully take one. Most of my guys don't have the funds to get a guide and camp with him. So, we will be ranting a place and than driving to public land to give it a go. If anyone has a better place for public land (other than ADK) in New York, I'd love to hear it. We plan on scouting a handful of times this spring, summer, and fall to set up camera's and find a home to rent.

is it wort traveling to the Adirondacks to hunt? Any thoughts?

I know it sounds crazy. But it was a bark. I'd had deer do all the other sounds but it was my first to hear a deer bark. I found a link on the web of a deer (not whitetail) that made the exact same sound. I'll try to find it.

Just finished my hunting trip in Ranageley and preparing to hunt NY after Thanksgiving. I was sitting in my ladder stand and a nice 6 pointer came my way. All of a sudden the deer stopped looked around and made a noise (the only thing i can compare it too) like a very high pitched bark. It was spooked and ran away. I heard the bark a few more times. Anyone else have this happen?

New to Hunting upstate NY. I used to hunt Rangeley, ME. Wanted to get thoughts on WMU 5G, 5F, 5H. Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to get a discussion going on the WMU's 5F, 5G, 5H. Is it worth hunting those WMU's. Deciding to change my hunting area from Rangeley, ME to Upstate NY. What does everyone think?

Hello All, I'm new to Hunting NY. In fact, have not hunted there yet. I've hunted Rangeley Maine for 15 years. The crew and I have decided to hunt the Adirondacks in 2011. Any help or tips in locations to hunt the adirondacks would be greatly appreciated.
