  1. . I will say this the deer that I hit over the weekend most likely killed and did not recover was a error of stand shooting. Not my form or the shot just the point of aim, the deer was closer then I thought she was and with the steep angel of the shot and the arc of the arrow I hit very high to the point the arrow hit almost vertical. If I had aimed just below the deer it would have been a perfect hit.... Pure mental error on my part and I will be the first to admit it
  2. . My Friend just bought a place there
  3. . I got some flack for the weekend I had but Jesus, you think you way have it a doe not sure, stayed in your stand which is the right thing to do. Give it some time. But then you drew on a buck. Seriously guy. Worry about the one you might have hit first. I spent almost 2 full days looking for the doe that I killed this weekend.... Never found her but I looked and didn't draw on another deer or even hunt until I was sure I wasent going to find her
  4. I have never owned a muzzleloader before and my fiancé wants to buy me one for Christmas, does anyone have any suggestions of what she should get... Keep in mind I really do not want her spending a ton of money on this. Used is more than ok. Also what else would I need to really get stated
  5. . You are really close to me I hunt Liberty
  6. . Just been a very frustrating morning, no offense taken... I'm thinking if I go back after dark with a flash light maybe if she is down it will reflect off her eye and make here easier to find
  7. . If you read my post about the misses both shots deflected off of branches which have since been trimmed.... The shot this morning that wounded the doe was not poor aim but poor choice of aim point she was very close to my tree and a should have aimed just under her... I didn't realize how close she was till I got down
  8. . And where would you suggest I go. I did my due diligence and searched for over 7 hours. And will go take another look when my friend gets here
  9. So I'm back in my stand and there are 5 crows going crazy 50 yards or so off to my left over some thick stuff I wonder if she could have circled all the way back
  10. So I have been searching since 8:30 am, have been at last blood since about 10:30. I'm headed back to my stand. My friend should be up at camp around 5 we will take one more look and call it of we find nothing
  11. . I'm at a loss I lose the trail 30 yards from there and find nothing I've done grids in that area for hours now
  12. . It's the lawn that's creating the issue its obvious that it crossed the lawn but I can't figure out where
  13. She can't reach it, and last blood leads to a lawn and then nothing. There is a tiny clump of white hair in the last blood I'm making one more ground of circles
  14. She can't reach it, and last blood leads to a lawn and then nothing. There is a tiny clump of white hair in the last blood
  15. . What do you guys think been searching for ever and it dries up 30 yards from this spot
  16. . Back out here at end of blood trail back tracker a bit and the blood is bright red with small bubbles spotty but here
  17. . Where are you located.... I'm hunting in Sullivan country
  18. . It was ok blood bright red, one decent pool on the right and a small pool on the left
  19. Rough morning, I sat the same stand that I hit the twigs in last night. Had a doe come In around 8 o'clock. She gave me a perfect broadside shot at about 7 yards, I guess I didn't aim low enough. The arrow hit here very high almost straight down right next to her spine, penetrated about 8 inches. I waited about 40 min and went back to the house to get my fiancé. She helped me located and follow the blood. Which we found about 60 yards from my stand. We tracked her about 500 yards to the creek very light blood drops. Then another 300 to a over grown hay field where the blood started to get better looked like she was bleeding from both sides. Went into a little cut of pines that led to someone's law with posted signs... There were two descent spots of blood right in the entrance.... I went and knocked on the door to ask permission to track and the owner gladly gave it to me. Once we entered his property the trail dried up we searched in every direction and found nothing. Never found my arrow either... I'm really pissed but there was nothing more I can do. I guess I'll get back in that stand this afternoon
  20. . Sure that would be great, I wonder if it's highland venison farm cause I asked them last year and they said no
