I bought two ladder stands and I picking up a ground blind this weekend. This will be my girlfriends first season hunting and I feel that the blind will make her more comfortable and not force me to sit with her all the time. I also want to pick up a pack of the G5 monotech brodheads

I know for a fact because I have seen the court documents
-
With road kill it is illegal to take any part of the deer except for the antlers, unless you have a tag.... If you saw off each antler individually it is ok but if you take any part of the skull plate you are breaking the law.... I know this for a fact because a friend of mine learned this the hard way and and had to go to court.

I have truly seen what I would call chasing once and it was a old basket 8 pt chasing a group of does around a apple orchard his neck was swollen as hell and he was grunting at them the entire time

So last season I'm sitting up in my tree stand bored and cold. It was early December. I was so cold I decided to still hunt a bit because I couldn't take sitting there any more. I lowered the gun using my rope and climbed down. When I got down I realized I lowered the gun barrel first and the barrel was now packed with snow. I un load the gun check it twice and start blowing down both ends of the barrel to clear it. This does not work so me being a idiot I get a think stick and start shoving it down the barrel to clear the snow. This seems to be working until snap the stick breaks off in the barrel. At this point I've given up and decide it's time to go back to camp and just clean the gun. Of course as I emerge from the woods onto the 40acer back field at cam, there is the nice 8 point I missed opening day feeding in the field 40 yards away from me. To bad there is 6 inches of stick Broken off in my barrel! Note to self when snow is on the ground cover muzzle in electrical tape!

I work a lot and some days when I hunt no joke I have brought my work laptop into the woods to take client orders..... How about some sort of either a fold down or attached small table to the side of the seat in a ladder stand

Has anyone ever tried any of the remote control coyote callers. Do they work, and do you have any tips for using them... My girlfriends family has 40 acres in liberty and they were nice enough to let me deer hunt this year, they have asked if I can help Get rid of some of the yotes they have running around and I would love to Help... Never hunted dogs before so any advice would be a big help. Thanks!

How many days do you hunt during deer season? How far do you travel to hunt?
Chef replied to Dave's topic in General Hunting
I hunted about 35 full days and a few evening sits after work. I travel anywhere from 10 to 100 miles to hunt! Walk any where from 300 yards to 4 miles in a given day! Going to try turkey this spring and also started raising chickens with a friend! Also starting a garden and planting food plots in April! -

Does anyone have a m1 they would be interested In selling. If not any info on what to look for in buying one or where to get one at a fair price would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to buy one and use it as my main hunting rifle for next year... I think it would be really cool to bring a piece of history into the woods with me I also posted this in the classifides
