Hey guys I had a quick question that I cant find a clear answer out on the DEC website. My little sister is finally getting her hunting license this year. She will be doing a combo course for Hunting and Bow in March. Now my question, is she allowed to sit in a blind with me for spring turkey? She would obviously not be hunting, nor even holding a bow, just to sit and accompany me while getting used to sitting in a blind for hours. I know she obviously doesn't have 2014/2015 tags so I just want to make sure its okay for her to sit with me. I thought it would be a good way to break her into sitting quietly in the spring rather than in the fall when she will be purchasing a 2015/2016 license. If you could help me out I would really appreciate it.

Hi guys, After coming here to US its 5 years already, just got my hunting license. Hunting hooked me on since i were 11 y.o. Thanks to my Grandfather most of the time i were in forest on weekends, not in the clubs doing drugs and making trouble.. I am from eastern Europe and hunting there is different. To hunt there you have to be in a hunting club, there are no state lands you can hunt on alone....So average hunting day was 15-30 men in forest chasing an animal... The thing is... I am looking for hunting buddy, or someone who could teach me a little more about this hunting you do here guys... I am interested in any type of hunting... Even those which average hunters are not interested in ... like coyotee, fox hunting.... I live in Brooklyn NY Thanks. Ed

Hey everybody, I've been enjoying reading various topics/posts on this forum, so I decided to make an account myself. I'm a college student, and my school is near Boston, MA; which is unfortunately far from home in NY (meaning days in the field are lacking). I've only had my hunting license for a few years, and picked up my bow license this past summer; been out only 4 days this year (on random weekends when I can make it home). Saw a few does before shooting light and a couple just outside of my comfortable shooting range...soo close! Haven't shot a deer yet, but I'd love to fill some of my tags finally as well as the freezer. I'll be hunting 4C most likely, and it's looking like Thanksgiving will be my next home-visit. Can't wait to get out of school and into the woods a lot more next year.
