  1. We are between 17 and the river as well. I agree. Groups of doe well over the 8 to 10 mark. Sometimes 15 or 20 in a field feeding 50 yards off a road. But the answer isn't restriction on implement. The answer is population control which starts with doe management. Here in Suffolk I see doe on my street with triplet fawns from this year. I hunt all three seasons in 4W. It shouldn't be oh hey muzzle loader season.... last ditch effort to cull doe for the less than 10% of the permit holders who buy a muzz tag. All the state is doing in the southern tier is making sure that the yotes can feed through the winter by relying on this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Id betcha that survey is at least 50% of the decision making for them. I spend a lot of time in the woods and have never even seen a biologists truck on the road. Why don't they set up cameras like we do and start seeing what we really see. My guess is most of who sends those surveys back are hunters who log low hours and / or consider camp time real in the woods contact time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Beg to differ. Its not just whats in the woods. Its what you see driving toads in and out of town. The doe are everywhere in the 4's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Exactly. Although we are not invaded by the citidiots in 4W (too far from the outlets i suppose) all we see are doe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Im sure stuff like that is happening in a lot of DMU's especially if folks need the meat to live on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. We have lost new club members due to this as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks all. Looks like the separate switch is the winner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Evening y'all- I am in the process of putting a 23" LED work light on the front bumper of my Silverado. I was thing about wiring it to the fog lights. So when I hit the fogs the work light comes on as well. The work light is 1800 watts and 280,000 Lumen. I would think I'd want it on with all of the lights on as well. What are your thoughts?
  9. Maybe the DEC is content with all the 4 legged coyote feed or having so many CDW possibilities running through the woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. careful that may not be Snapple in that bottle!
  11. not exactly. the Polymer tip on the shockwave is a different polymer (much softer) per TC tech support and that might be why they don't expand as well, but they tips don't deform when seating them either. I have found that shockwaves leave wound channels that promote a lot of tissue damage whereas SST ML rounds do. Bottom line, for me nothing performs as good as the Harvester Scorpion. But shoot what you want to. I just got tired of looking for deer. I switched to Harvesters and when the smoke clears, they are pretty much laying where they stood. With a magnum charge of White Hots in my TC Prohunter and a 260 gr Scorpion bullet , you can slide a coke can into the exit hole.

  13. XTP, and TC Shockwaves don't really expand much at all. I like the Harvester bullets a lot, great terminal performance on whitetails. The Hornady SST muzzleloader Bullets are okay as are the Barnes Sabots.
  14. I think what I was trying to say nicely is that XTP's would be bottom of my list for deer hunting......
  15. Danny Azato at Unlimited in Oakdale did.
  16. Got this snipe for sale. Great gun perfect for pheasant. Choked mod and full. Locks up tight. Put a Limbsaver pad on it (LOP is still 14.25') and a Truglo bead. Bottom barrel had a little rough spot on it. The previous owner ket in the case. I cleaned it up and cold blued it out. Looks to be fine now to me. Anyway fair priced at $650 plus FFL transfer fees (if your FFL needs it sent through an FFL on my side) and any shipping. PM me for more pics/info. snipe 2 snipe 3 snipe a 1 snipe a2 snipe a3 snipe a4 snipe a5 snipe b
  17. I spent all my free time this summer fishing and not posting to the likes of y'all! Anyways I am back with all kinds of crappy wisdom and stubborn opinions to share. I'm sure I was woefully missed.
  18. perfect colors and perfect symmetry. buffle 1 buffle 2
  19. The AR program is at best 50/50. We are not seeing the big PA 8 and 10's at 4 yrs. At best basket 6's. We just don't have the mix of genetics and nutrition. Plus the yote's are a disaster. The regional biologists are clueless on doe populations as well. They rely on mail in surveys that I don't even bother filling out anymore.
  20. Either one of these old two girls will do just fine...... BAR's Mk I' 30-06 (1968 and 1970) with new Zeiss glass. Print tight to 200 yds with Winchester Deer Season XP 150's. The 68 was my grandfather's he bought it when he made Lt. in the City.
  21. just XTP's in a new wrapper...... Good bullet but watch how they sometimes don't expand. LOL. Still its hitting a deer with a freight train. I've done better with Harvester bullets (Scorpion). Truly designed for ML hunters, not an adapted pistol bullet like most others. Anyway, that is my $0.02. Good luck.
  22. My 83 year old mother lives in Pompano with my niece. They refused to leave. UGHHHHH
  23. So 4W with a preference point,.... denied. 90% of what we see are doe. Now I have two PP's and no doe tag for where most of my hunting happens. Anyone else have a similar thing happen?
