Also one reason is, it's nice to know you CAN do it in case the day comes when you HAVE to do it.

Usually I guess bigfoot

I'd say a pretty good possibility.

I was thinking fisher or marten because of the claw marks. I'm just guessing.

Hunting Christmas presents. Whatcha get ?
RobC replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
I got a traditions trapper pistol. Never shot a muzzleloader pistol. Pretty excited to try it out. With gift cards I bought an rcbs chargemaster combo. Also excited to use that. -
Hey guys, I'm well aware that what scope should I get is probably one of the most asked question. So I had some extra Christmas money laying around believe it or not. So I picked up a winchester model 70 in 300 win mag. Now I need a scope for it. Realistically the farthest I'd be able to shoot it would be 300 yards in target shooting, and cut that in half for deer hunting if I ever decide to use it for hunting. So what scope should I get. I've done a bunch of research and looked over all the stats. I'm wondering if I missed any. Looking at max of 500 dollars to spend on it. I'm partial to leupold because thats what I have on my 30 06 which is my most comparable gun to this but I'm not really brand loyal at this point. Thanks for any opinions.

Been between 30-06 and 45-70 the last few years. 30-06 for almost 10 years. I bought a beowolf barrel 2 years back and have been tempted to use it but worried it's over kill. Anybody ever use one or know someone who has?
-
Besides the 3006 I've been kicking around the idea of using the 44 super black hawk or 50 beuwolf.

Remington 760 game master 30 06 with leupold scope and 150 grain Sierra pro hunter reloads.

Pulled 2 off myself this year at work and over 6 off our pets this year in Catt county

So then my next pick would be a benelli mr1

I'd look at a mini 14 or 30. They shoot 5.56/.223 and 7.62. Always late to the party I see its already been mentioned.

Maverick 99 12gauge. Biggest doe I've shot to date 9yrs ago

Been snowing on and off all day here in Perrysburg. Nothing sticking except to my jacket

I didn't think it was but it did get me thinking. It just sounds very distinct and always by itself. Doesn't take much for my imagination to run wild especially if someone is adding to it lol

So all summer long we've been hearing a large population of coyotes going off almost every night but quite often there is one that just don't sound like a coyote. It sounds to me and quite a few other people like a wolf. One day we watched at the time what I thought was a huge and very dark coyote walk across the field. This thing made my German Shepard look like a lap dog and she is every bit of 80 lbs. Well recently a few friends of mine were out and we heard the mystery howl and boy was it close. Well one of my friends went home and did so research and claims there are timber wolves in the area (Portville/Hinsdale area). Anyone else heard anything like that?

I've always to my guns apart to clean hand wiped all the parts and put back together. I got a can of Winchester spray cleaner which claims to be able to clean the gun without having to take it a part. My questions are 1. Does anybody else use aerosol cleaning cans to clean their guns and how do they compare? 2. Do you just spray it into trigger assembly, barrels and other hard to get to parts and you're done without wiping it away? It claims to be a cleaner and lubricant also. How well does it lubricate? Just seems wrong to spray it into triggers and firing pin areas and leave it seems like it would stay wet and collect even more debris.

I got my xdm 45acp 5.25 bi tone this week. only 100 rds threw it because this weather sucks but I couldn't be happier with everything about it. Anyone else have an xdm? I'd like to hear others thoughts on them. I got it because I'd like to get into some kind of competive shooting with it. Having trouble finding any groups in my area that do anything. Catt county area. Anyone know of anything?
