My first turkey season is over and it was a success, not because I got a bird (I didn’t ) but because I learned a whole bunch and had fun doing it. Cynthia is was a pleasure meeting you, blackbeltbill thank you for the hip pocket class. This season, I learned how to hunt from the bare ground and a blind. I learned how to cut, purr and Yelp with a pot call( which I need to practice). Thank you guys for the knowledge and I enjoyed reading the posts. Maybe we can get together and do some pheasant hunting in the fall. For all the vets thank you for your service and for the fallen you are not forgotten. Went to Stewart, trying something different using a blind today and the plus side is I’m nice and dry. Last day no gobbles yet but I’m going to make the best of it and enjoy it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went this morning to where I met you blackbeltbill, heard no gobbles maybe someone got the bird I was working. Oh well it was a beautiful morning, sadly the weather and work won’t cooperate for the weekend but I may get out one last day on the 31st. Hi Cynthia and Blackbeltbill just got home to Long Island. It was amazing meeting you guys and blackbeltbill can’t thank you enough for the impromptu lesson, I could pick your brain all day. I’m going to practice at work today. Heard a gobbler today going off.... never came by my decoys or me. When I left my spot I ran into him 5 feet off the road. Hello everyone, Been lurking here for a bit decided to finally jump in. While I hunted when I was a kid, someone basically held my hand. Recently I’ve gotten the itch and want to jump right in this season. From Upland and Waterfowl to Turkey and Deer, I’ve been throughly researching it all but posts, and articles only get you so far.
