Clip draw. Anyone have one of these on a handgun ?
Twax10 replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
No no no.. For starters, never carry without a holster that covers the trigger guard. EVER! That's how accidental discharges happen. Secondly, there is no way to efficiently draw with this setup. There are a hundred quality holsters available out there. Leather, hybrid, kydex (preferred), nylon etc. I guarantee you can find one that fits you. -
Hate to break it to you Bill but I sold this thing about a week ago. Just forgot to update the post until now. Good luck on finding one!

For sale is a Mathews z7 extreme. This bow is in mint condition. I bought it brand new about 3 years ago, hunted with it for 1 year and it has sat in the case ever sense. 28" draw length and I believe the draw weight is set to 65lbs, which is adjustable. It comes with an Extreme 4 pin fiber optic sight (which matches the bow camo and has a level), an Apache stabilizer, braided wrist sling, a drop away rest (I believe it is a Trophy Ridge) and 6 Carbon Express Arrows (3 are equipped with Lumenok's). I will also throw in the padded carry case which secures the bow and has a spot for your arrows/quiver and release. This bow is ready to hunt. You won't find a nicer used bow. If you have an questions feel free to ask. I am not interested in trades at this time. Thank you Asking $700 Located in Gansevoort NY (near Saratoga)

Oil filters work better (so I've heard). You can buy adapters online (so I've heard). Throw in a few subsonics and all you can hear is the hammer drop. At least that's what a friend told me.

That's a good poke, nice shooting. I had one of the farmers flag me down while I was driving by a few days ago. Said there's been a "big chuck" out behind the Mexican trailers for a few weeks that he wanted me to get rid of. I just happened to have my gun in the truck so I told him that he would be there for long. 5 minutes later...

It shoots well. I've only put the A17 Ammo through it so far but I got sub-moa groups with ease so I figured there was no need to try anything else. I have had a few fte's and the bolt isn't as smooth as I would like. It's still new though (<50 rounds) so we'll see how it goes with a little more shooting. It's got a great feel and a smooth trigger. Overall I'm happy so far.

Got 1 more as the sun was going down this afternoon. First kill for my newest 17.

They cut half of the hay field that I've been shooting most of my chucks out of this summer. The good half is yet to be cut so I'm looking forward to that. The first one I shot was actually in the cut part of the field but he was half in his hole and there was some tall grass around it which made for a more difficult shot. I like those shots tho. They'll really test how good you are with your firearm. Also it will either be a clean miss or a clean hit. Nothing in between.

Tally up another 2. 70 yards and a little over 100. Both head shots (that's all I could see over the tall grass).

Here's the link if anyone else is interested. They also have 22 lr and 22 mag available with the same deal. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/1726/ruger_amer-rf-f-p_17hmr_18_tr_odg

Buds Gun Shop got me with their 180 days to pay program a few weeks ago and I snagged a Ruger American in 17hmr for like $300. My will power is weak when it comes to guns. It'll be interesting to see how the two measure up.

My 2 nikons have the BDC reticles so holding the rifle straight up and down can be a big deal at longer ranges. All I have to do is open my left eye and the bubble is right in my field of view. Close my left eye and get back on target, then make the shot. I also have one on my 223 that has a Nikon P-223 on it. It can really make a difference when trying to make those 500-600 yard shots. Here is what I see in the scope of my 17, minus the number values. But all I did was have a sticker made up with this image on it and stuck it to my butt stock for quick reference. You can see it in my first pictures on the rifle.

I really liked the idea of a semi 17 when I saw it was coming out last year. I waited on it for a little while but finally decided to buy it at the beginning of the year despite seeing numerous negative reviews. I figured I'd give it a shot. I've been very happy so far. I haven't had any of the magazine issues that I saw online, the cycling has been nearly 100% reliable (2 FTF's out of maybe 400 rounds) and it will shoot 1 hole 3 shot groups at 100 yards if I do my part. And as far as the hunting has gone it's been great. I've only missed 2 chucks so far which I'm sure was shooter error. I also killed a fox and a coyote with it earlier in the year. Overall it's a keeper in my mind.
