  1. Well weve got about 100 acres of posted property, so Im not really worried about being ticketed for it too much. I guess the real reason they wouldnt want you to feed the bears is that it'll possibly attract them more into human locations? I mean this is pretty deep woods away from homes, so I dont really see that happening, but im thinking that is probably the main goal here? I just want to put something up there that they'll actually attract to and give them some time to get caught on cam with.
  2. Baiting for pictures would be illegal too? I assumed that would just be the case if I was hunting them.
  3. Thanks for all the responses guys, and to think of all the times Ive walked those acres without an ounce of protection, yikes. Its exciting to know they are there, but scary at the same time. I think im going to set up a game camera and some bait and get a look at these mothers.
  4. Bear, that was my thought. Im glad someone else thinks so too. Is this for certain? My father who owns the land says no bears, and also the forester hanst made any mention of bears. I still believe it to be bears though. and nope no t.p. around the turd, it had to be only a few hours old at that time, it was still warm almost.
  5. Sorry if I put this thread in the wrong place, I didnt really find a "scat" specific category. I live in the Southern Tier of NY and was up on my dads land yesterday doing some riding and hiking, first real dry day to go out and do so. Well, I came across a big piece of scat and I have seen it before around the land but this one was bigger than most. It really interested me and Id like to know what we got up there. If anyone is good with this sort of thing please chime in?
