sorry to hear that he's in a wheel chair.. never did understand his hunting style or lack there of.. one show I cant forget was a him on a caribou hunt.. after getting close to the herd he devised the plan and briefed his guide.. in short he was gonna get close run and shoot at em.. he reminded me of a child chasing ducks in the park.. didn't hit a thing but was happy as hell. I guess the most educational thing was that he showed how not to hunt give him props on the bear though..

Congrads!.. one of the toughest things is deciding on two bows from same manufacturer. Ive got my sights set on a bowtech assassin, it took me weeks to make the decision, still need to do a shot comparison with the invasion. hopefully the extra cash fairy hits my bank soonto help things along ;D .

Ignorance in America

Its quite simple. If you are unaware of what you have, you are less apt to protest when its taken away from you. -
just wanted to plug ND Archery in red hook.. had my bow tuned there this week, quality workmanship, very professional and quick turn around time. if you haven't heard of em, or been there check em out.. heres their link. http://www.ndarchery.com/

Sounds very similar, with the exception of glassing all day. I am sure that eastern cousins travel the same terrain features. they all need to eat and drink . its funny I am looking into possibly joining a club. and it sounds like it might be the thing to do. thanks, i appreciate all the input

I would plan a trip to a real archery shop avoiding large sporting good type stores. ( I am not from the area so I cant point you to any), and shoot everything in your price range.. you will notice a difference hands down. find the one that feels right to you.. I shoot a bowtech justice and love it, I think their quality is amazing.. others may not. theres alot of latest and greatest.. but it all boils down to what feels right in your hands, after all, your bow is a tool and you should be able to wield it comfortably. best wishes.. -
rock and roll Gman.. will do

looking for some sound advise on Bow hunting in this area. the majority if not all of my experience is in the desert / high desert where Hunting is quite literally redefined... I cant tell you how many hours of glassing canyons, ridges spurs draws and hill sides for deer you spend and then have to plan your stalk when you find them.. despite the hard work it is really enjoyable. I prefer spot and stalk because of the challenge. however it seems that ambush (stands or blinds) would be the ticket here. any advise would be a great help, and maybe a good thread.. thanks..

I usually go with factory/ OEM stabilizers due to the theory of made for your brand of bow, however there are great after market products that would suit your individual needs.. heres a link that has all the intel you could need for choosing what would be appropriate for you.. http://bowsite.com/BOWSITE/features/articles/equipment/stabilizers101/

C X maxima hunters.. been shooting them for about 5 yrs now... a bit pricey but worth it to me.. very tight shot groups... however it is all relative to continual practice. -
Coming from an area that took forever to get drawn for rifle season and had over the counter archery tags.. I would cringe at "new" bow hunters that would delve into the sport with out a clue.. one quote i will never forget is a gentleman that was looking at rigs say in response to proper shot placement on how his throat slitting ability would suffice!?! I think that a xbow would at least alleviate the self felt need for someone to hunt in a way that is completely foreign to them, and a good alternative for those of us to use when we cant draw any longer.. my .02 and with inflation its not worth hardly that..

alibi.. any info on bear in this area would be much appreciated.. heard some stories from the locals..(i guess that'd be me now too)..

thank you! and for my fellow service members and vets thank you! , bird hunter, pm in bound. as far as location, I am not sure, I live in northern portion.. and play frogger dear addition every day going to and from any where.. so i would love to be able to drive 20 min from home and fill a tag.. I used to drive up to 4 hrs and hope to SEE a deer not to mention leg work.. yes desert seems bit different, but do north eastern dear know when the season starts too??

the greater the distance, the less forgiving your rig will be, there for, forcing you to implement proper shooting fundamentals.. if you can practice out to 50 or 60 your shot groups will tighten dramatically at hunting distances. my .02
