I just switched from Easton Aluminum to CX Heart Attack. Picked 6 up at Dicks for $40. Removed the plastic vanes, wrapped the arrows with blaze orange arrow wraps, slipped on some FOB's and CX lighted nocks. What a difference from the EA both in distance and accuracy with the FOBs.

IMO bow hunting season should be two weeks earlier as is presently being proposed to the DEC and leave firearm alone. Many of us can only hunt on weekends during the bow and firearm seasons.

Nice looking shed. I need to fix mine up a bit and nail in some shelves. I got stuff lying all around the shed in disorder.

Great thanks!

Hi All,
I picked up my deer hide (hair off) approximately 9sqft, about a week ago and I can't figure out what to make out of the leather or where to send it to have it made. I was thinking driving gloves, belt or slippers. I would like to stay local in New York. Any suggestions?

I just got an idea from Neverguessrangefinder.com. Its a forearm/wrist mounted rangefinder that is triggered with the push of a button strapped to your finger while pressing against the bow grip. I have some camera mounts and tripods lying around. I may give it a try to make one myself.

That's why you need to eat beans and greens the night before so you can take care of business in the morning before you head out to your stand ;D

I have a PSE Deerhunter - basic and simple starter bow. Ordered it online in 2009 at Yeoldearcheryshoppe.com for a great price ($249 i think) It came with a cheap drop away rest, quiver and large site. I brought it to my local archery shop and had them set it up for $50. Since then I've been fine tuning it myself and adding accessories i.e. Trueglo lighted site, NAP Apache drop away containment rest with CX arrows using FOB's rather than traditional fletchings. I swear by it. Shoots great and very accurate.

Not a bad idea NYBuckboy but that wouldn't work for me since my stands are in trees facing open corn fields. I guess I could go out into the corn field and put up some markers on the corn stalks in front of my stand or put stakes in the ground with orange tape on the tips. I may just give that a try . . .

I did read the regs before I bought it and i agree with Doewhacker, i believe the regs apply to an actual laser site that emits a laser beam. Also The regs do not say anything about being illegal to have a rangefinder mounted on your bow. But I will make sure its OK to use with DEC. Thanks

Purchased the Leupold Vendetta (bow mounted) range finder in the spring. Alot easier to use when holding a bow at full draw. Well see how how well it works in the treestand this coming bow season.

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum but long time NY Hunter. Just renewed my hunting license and didn't get my preference DMP so I figured I'd give bear a try this coming season. Wondering if anyone has seen or taken any black bear in Southern Columbia County over the last couple of years? I hunt on privately owned land about 100 acres with corn and somewhat dense hardwoods on the perimeter. Any advice for a newbie would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ok. . . so who else is thinking about opening day 24/7?

Ok... so I'm sitting at my desk doing some work on my laptop and I can't stop thinking about opening day.
Just wondering if it's only me, but is anyone else thinking about opening day 24/7?
