way to go!!!!!

Ditto!!! That's where I go for mine as well.

Pole saws work great on initial stand set-up. The Hooyman 5' works well while up in your actual stand for clearing out any branches that are in the way that you can't reach from the ground. Best part, is this model fits right into your back pak making it very handy.

Bow Hunting - Do you prefer to use a ground blind or tree stand?
maytom replied to jrussell's topic in Bow Hunting
As I get older, a pop-up blind sounds like a good idea. Ditto -
Ditto as well. Your restricting yourself by sitting for some shot possibilities. Some people are afraid of heights, and feel safer sitting? If you have a buck behind your stand, how would you make a shot by sitting? Just got use to standing and have been ever since.

I currently drive a 2009 Silverado, it just turned 142,500 miles the other day. Last of the 4 speed tranys, they all went to a 6 speed in 2010. Mechanically wise, it still runs great!! It's the little things that are getting annoying for me. CD player stopped working, passenger side window control button on driver's side stopped working, XM radio lost signal, won't work??? The storage compartment between the seats, latch broke off? This will be the last winter for this truck, like you, I will be getting a new truck come spring. I really don't haul or tow anything that heavy, so I am leaning with down sizing to the brand new Tacoma coming out next month. This will be my first Toyota, and they are rated #1 for durability and trade-in valve over most of the other trucks. Thinking of the TRD Sport, since I really don't like taking a $30,000.00+ truck off road and beating it up. Want a very dependable truck for winter driving and mostly highway use, besides getting the normal stuff a homeowner needs, mulch, 2x4's, firewood, snowblower/lawnmower servicing, etc. Like what they did to this truck for 2016. Bumped up the HP from 236 to 278hp, went with a 6 speed tranny instead of a 5 speed. Redone the frame, suspension, and inside as well. This will be my truck of choice for the future.

Looking to Rent a Pull Behind Trail Mower in the Buffalo Area
maytom replied to mlammerhirt's topic in General Hunting
If your looking for a ATV spreader, I have one for sale. It's the HD one from Cabela's by Hunters Specalties. Sold our cottage last year, used it for our food plots. -
Ditto that as well, except for deer I rather bow hunt than gun hunt.
-
I also had to get some 2 bladed Rage heads since I was told we can't use the 3 bladed ones. (after I bought 2 packages!!!!) Not worth loosing my license over

I plan on taking it at 62...............not waiting to 66.

Wow.....this has been a piss poor year for the stock market, now especially with that crap happening in Greece!!! I sure hope that by the fall it starts to turn around!!!!

Ditto Lake Placid, been there and it was an awesome time. Lot's of history there as well with the 1980 Olympic sites too.

Looking at some new bows myself. Want to check out the ones by Bowtech as well.

It's all about accuracy when shooting a bow. Don't understand the above comment "if your pre-occupied with making bad shots", who in their right mind would be doing that? A mechanical will always fly truer than a fixed head type of broadhead just by their design. I understand that their is quite a lot of brands out there and some might be questionable with light weight poundage to work properly. I'm referring to the tried and tested, best of the bunch. Again, accuracy with your equipment is what we all should be striving for. Like mentioned in my post above, I haven't tried the Slick-Trick brand of broad heads, but I have very good reports on them.
-
I haven't tried them personally. My BH of choice now is the Rage brand. I have tried the "fixed" head types such as Muzzy, Wasp, etc., but never could get them to fly true???? The Mechanicals will fly like a dart for sure. I have heard some good info on Slick Tricks, but still a little hesitant of spending the money again on a fixed type of head.
