  1. Not something I would purchase. Although if it's out there somebody will buy it. Not finding fault, but it seems like there's so many products hitting the market that are just 'must haves' for us archery hunters. BTW isn't archery suppose to be a primitive-type hunting experience, and meant to be challenging? What's next... a gattling-gun crossbow?
  2. Cut on contact... something like a Muzzy Phantom
  3. All my stuff got sorted today... will wash it all tomorrow. After drying it I'll store it in a tote 'til opening day. Can't wait.
  4. GREAT Post and observation Doc! As a retired machine shop supervisor I am as shocked as you regarding your findings. The tolerances for field tips must be 'open ended' :spiteful: . One would think that consistency could be maintained machining them from a piece of bar stock (unless the company is using belt-driven equipment.. oh wait, the Starrett Corporation still uses them as back up machines in the maufacturing of their measuring products). Hey Doc - now I have a technical reason why I don't get 'Robin Hoods' at shoots... thanks!
  5. Check out the story here: http://www.stargazette.com/article/20111005/NEWS01/110050370/The-buck-stopped-here-Town-Ithaca-man-confronts-panicked-deer-inside-his-workshop?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE
  6. Listen to your doctor! Don't hunt immediately after having an operation, you can rip & tear your insides!
  7. 20, 30, 40, 50 I practice 40 and 50... but won't shoot in the timber more than 30.
  8. Welcome Back D... Too bad no shot... but like you said, thats's huntin'. Glad you had a great time and I hope you do get a chance to get up there again. My questions: Did ya' get a chance to eat at Yoken's in Portsmouth? And your waitress being from Elmira - was her name Lauren?
  9. I'm 65 yrs old and with bubba on this one! I use to shoot an '06 for many years... a few years ago I got tired of the recoil and got a .260Rem and never looked back! NO RECOIL and every deer I've shot hit the ground - right there! I shoot the 120gr Federal Vital Shok bullets.
  10. After an altercation last year I programmed the DEC's TIPP hotline into my cellular phone. If anything happens this year - I'm callin'! Hey y'all... here's the number incase you want to program it into your phone: DEC TIPP Hotline: 1-800-847-7332
  11. I think she's havin' second thoughts... she's laggin' way behind.
  12. Sorry for your losses. And THAT's why I don't own any trailcams. There are bad guys out there that shouldn't even be called hunters. There is a gang who illegally trespass and 'run over' and threaten anyone hunting on the private land I hunt on. Even the landowner is afraid to confront them for fear of disasterous retribution. It's just not the same as when I use to hunt with grampa 50 years ago. Hopefully kp... you'll be rewarded this year with the buck of a lifetime (and that trailcam they stole will malfunction in a couple of days).
  13. I carry a BU in my backpack. My primary is a Tru-Fire and my BU is a Tru-Ball... both are wrist releases and I practice with each.
  14. Cool man! Too bad some people have to use one of those... but how cool is it to get back in the woods and enjoy nature and hunt. Best of luck to all disabled hunters this year.
  15. GREAT GROUP Grizz.... Now all ya' gotta' do is see hair.
  16. That's an understatement bubba... I've been up in your country - it's 3 miles past the edge of the earth!
  17. He's a DANDY!!! Don't forget your lucky sox...
  18. I'd recommend the freshest stuff you can purchase! And, I'd try to get some 'local' stuff verses the big-name brand scents.
  19. What a testament to Bushnell's quality. You gonna' submit your cam's survival story to them?
  20. Okay... now I see how it works. Same question bubba and paula.
