I've never done any type of shed hunting. I think I'd like to get out and look for some. What's the best place to scout... cut corn fields, bedding areas, etc...?

12 year old shot dead by playmate
MuzzyLoader replied to rebal's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Mr. Administrator... It's time to mark this thread a 'Sticky Topic' IMO. There may be forum members (in addition to me) reading this that have lost a child to suicide or a gun related accident. My wife and I lost our son to suicide in 1999 (he was living in KS and used his own shotgun) at the age of 24. And because of that - my perspective on this thread may be slightly different from previous posts. I am in agreement with many posts, appalled by some, and can rationally understand others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and opinions are formed based on an individual’s past learning and experiences. I would just like to reiterate this – loosing a child to a gun-related incident is truly a gut-wrenching ordeal and it will affect your life for many years afterward. I for one am praying that everyone involved in this/these terrible tragedies can somehow climb back to functioning as a somewhat 'normal' human being. Although, I am well aware and know it will probably take them a long while to do that. I pray for God's Blessing upon all involved, and ask Him to grant them Peace. *Certified by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in, Suicide Outreach. -

LOVE IT! -
What a beautiful animal. Congratulations on your accomplishment! Looks like you're in the NYS Big Buck Club young lady.

jimbo... Check out the Swift line of scopes. I had one on my shotgun and NEVER had any problems with it. They have good glass in them with coatings that really let in alot of light. They are also not high-dollar scopes as they don't spend alot of money advertising. http://www.swift-sportoptics.com/rs_premier.htm

WOW... nice fish is right! I've never seen a salmon over 22 pounds from Ontario (it was the one I caught). What port do you go out of... Rochester, Buffalo, Sodus, Pulaski, etc..? 36 pounds must have been caught in the fall - correct?

My wife likes regular fishing, so we compromise and fish then. She'd fish everyday if possible (only not in the winter).

Yes... nice buck! Here's hopin' you can find both sheds this year and then take him next year. That'd be cool.
-
MOMMA MIA... Wouldn't it be fun to see something like that walk through your yard?
-
That's a great-looking buck! Perhaps Bass Pro Shop in Auburn will want to display it on their wall seeing it was taken in NY.
-
Cool lookin' rack indeed! And to have both sides appear the same is really unique.
-
Hey letinm... here's to hopin' you post a photo of you and him together next year! Good Luck ma' man!

Congratulations on passing your exam... and then following it up with a doe - you're the Woman!

I agree Doc... looks like conflicting purposes 'twix the two departments, and joining them together could be a recipe for disaster for all involved.

Congratulations Cloke - great lookin' bear!

My 10 Point Buck success story
MuzzyLoader replied to goodnough56's topic in Hunting Success Stories
Amen Wooly, amen indeed! There are no coincidences, and for those of you that are skeptics... ask, and see what appears. -
Congratulations Wooly... isn't it amazing how all of a sudden it can go from 'no deer' to having deer all around you? Great story - thanks for sharing. Enjoy your venison - stay hungry my friend.
-
Atta boy Geno! Congratulations on a very good season (so far...)
-
That's because they keep moving them at night to fake us out where they really cross. The best year I ever had hunting with the ole F-150 (I called it my Ford-ought-six) was 3 in 5 weeks - dumb deer.
-
Fantail... you can go hunting with me anytime! I carry 3 - only load 2. I cannot believe how many rounds some of these guys take into the woods.

I'd have to score my bow season a 1. Saw a 6-point - even the squirrels seemed to have moved away. Spent a lot of time in the woods up to the last week.

What type of rifle rounds ?
MuzzyLoader replied to BIGHUNTER2700537's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I use Federal Ammunition. .260 Caliber 120gr. Nosler® Ballistic Tip This little round is super smooth with hardly any recoil. Drops 'em in their tracks!!! -
Welcome... hope you enjoy it - and best of luck to you this year.
