  1. I can't wait! I'll be out on 10/1 if possible and hunt til I score. Probably doe first, then look for the 'big guy'. I'm hunting archery all season (even regular gun) this year and from hear on out.
  2. Thanks for sharing... it's neat to see them grow.
  3. Oh Dave... my wife got to the mailbox before I did and tried to hide the archery catalog from me - but I could smell it when she brought it into the house. (My wife hates Cabela's too. Guess all women aren't alike - but all wives are) hehehe. Nothing I can't live without... but I find the HECS clothing system interesting. I'm seriously thinking of trying that out ('cuz I know where there is a big boy hanging out!).
  4. BGF... if you're as old as me you NEED something to enhance your vision. My eyes ain't anywhere near what they use to be...
  5. I've never cleaned or oiled my release (never even thought about it). Now after reading these posts paranoia has got the best of me and says.... 'Clean It'.
  6. My wife tried out a Liberty and damn near flipped it (with me and the dealer in it). Wheel base is short and the steering is fast (rack & pinion?). She actually was all over the road driving it (made me a nervous wreck!). My cousin flipped her Liberty going to work one morning on snowy roads (said she 'over corrected' after going into a skid at a stop sign). [psssst... she has a heavy foot]. Personally I'd stay away from the Jeep Liberty!
  7. I live in Chemung Co. Eddie and got mine from the VA Hospital in Bath (Steuben Co). If you want one sooner, go to your nearest VA Clinic and make an appt.... I think they then give you one automatically. Good luck.
  8. Oh they pose so nice... almost like taunting. Hope you get the drop-tine on camera soon.
  9. Lawd... Here's a link associated w/Craigslist. It'll show you multiple areas for something in need. http://www.searchtempest.com/
  10. Hey Paula... I watched a squirrel eat a shotgun shell in the woods one day (guess those little rascals will eat most anything).
  11. Oh, it'll happen... whether one likes it or not.
  12. Got a Summit Viper on Layaway at Hesselsons... $219. I also picked up a hang-on yesterday at a rummage sale for $10. I'm gonna sand blast it and camo paint it, then fabricate a new seat (as that's the only thing wrong with it - squirrels tore it apart!).
  13. How about that... becoming a new Grampa on Father's Day - outstanding! Congratulations to everyone involved and God Bless ya' all!
  14. How many of you guys/gals hunt woodchuck with your archery equipment? I went out Thursday evening and got three. I even got two of 'em with one shot (first time that ever happened!), I took my camera along to take photos, but deceided not to - they would be terribly graphic. Two babies and a momma. Gonna go back out probably Monday - there's more to be had. It's outstanding practice for deer hunting!
  15. I just ordered one John... thanks for the link!
  16. Fine-lookin' deer there son! I was wondering if you'd gotten the droptine on camera yet? BEST OF LUCK to you this year!!!
  17. Nice write-up on his involvement and accomplishments. Congratulations to him.
  18. What a horse! Keep on him Sam... so we can all watch him grow (I know, easier said than done).
  19. ALDI's has an outstanding Garlic Dressing that makes an excellent marinade! We usually buy 3 or 4 bottles everytime we go.
  20. She sure does. She'll be back in a few days with her babes.
  21. Nice! I also have a .40S&W that I carry... talked to a Border Patrol Agent once about his 9mm and he said they went to 10's. I told him I carried a .40 and he said, "Outstanding". That looks like a 3" bbl on that rascal... ought to pack nicely. Oops... I just read where this is a 4" bbl. With that in mind bubba, check out the Crossbreed holsters. I have an IWB that holds my FNP40 like a glove. http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/
  22. And that's why I shop at Lowes... albeit I didn't know Home Depot honored military/veteran status. I've never checked w/HD - maybe they'd honor mine... 10% Service-Connected Disability.
  23. Takes all kinds. Sounds like you met one of the 'outliers'. Hope your son is up and running in no time.
  24. I SOLD IT to the 1st couple that looked at it! Please lock this up... thanks.
