There are people, right now, who are desperately trying to find fault with something that officer/Deputy did. LOL!! -
Any idea how long recovery will be? Just thinking that you could do it now and by gun season be able to maybe at least hunt ground blinds. ?????? Good luck.

Yup..., I get up a little early & shower in the a.m. (bow season anyway) scent free soap & deodorant. Plus always keep the clothes clean & don't forget the boots. I clean my boots, with scent free soap, after every hunt. I keep my clean clothes in heavy duty trash bags.

#1- keep the sweaty skin, greasy hair, cheesy arm pit, rotten crotch swamp a$$ smell off of you and your clothes. In other words keep you and your clothes washed.

It has never happened to me, but I have also seen gut piles completely disappear over night. Not a drop of blood or scrap of guts left. One time (a few years ago) I came back the next day to find, not only my gut pile totally gone but also the big wad of bloody paper towels that I used to wipe off my hands after I gutted him. They are very efficient

i just wash my stuff, in scent free soap and then keep them in contractor grade garbage bags. When I head out I spray my clothes and boots with scent shield, or a similar product. When I get to my tree I like to kick out a patch of dirt, to get a little earth smell going, & I might spray a little plain doe pee on a near by bush. I think the biggest thing is to keep your self and your clothes as clean as possible.

Rain Rain Go Away, Come Again Some Other Day!

Just got back....It was wet. I wore a rain jacket and jeans..Smart, I know. Your thighs tend to get a little wet when you're riding an ATV and its pouring out. I got one stand moved and trimmed up. I was going to head to the other stand, but I said the hell with it. I'll do that one monday. On my way out the small brook I crossed, going in was up enough to notice. Hot shower and Bud light time. -
I drive an 08 Nissan Titan, that I bought new. It has 74000 on it and I plan on putting another 100000 on it. Over the summer I put front wheel bearings and tires on it. The brakes should have another year or more in them so I should be set, maintenance wise, for a while. As long as it doesn't start costing me a fortune every month, to get it fixed, and as long as parts aren't falling off of it, i'll keep it.

Im fighting the clock. I planned on going out today to move a couple ladder stands ( if they're still there) and trim bit. Should only take an hour or so. But first I have to give my son a ride, at 10:00, so Im watching the clock and the dark clouds rolling in. I have tomorrow and Monday open too, but I really want to go today. -
2200 sounds like a real good deal on that machine. Take it for a long ride & get it good and hot for a while. see if it stays running good.

Good looking set up. I have two 700's (wood stocks) and love them. No excuses for not scoring with a new gun this season...LOL Good luck.
-
After I get the bore nice and clean (and dry), I run a patch through it with just any type of gun oil. Rem oil, Hoppes gun oil, WD-40. Anything that is going to coat and protect the bore will work. I will also run an oil patch through the bore, a time or two, during the off season just to "re up" the protection. Haven't had a problem in over 25 years.

Which side of the fence are you on?

Easy with the "narrow minded" comments Mr. Glass House...LOL -
I hear ya. I hunt another property in Allegheny Co. We have problems with trespassers now and then but the owner just doesn't seem to care. When we bring something to his attention he say " I think I know who it is, if I see him I'll talk to him". His brother, on the other hand is relentless, when it comes to trespassing. He will confront them every time, take their stands and show up on their door steps but with out being the actual property owner he can't press charges. It's frustrating but thats the way it is.

Well at least it is fixable and you didn't get hurt too bad. Concentrate on next years riding season. It's almost DEER season anyway LOL!!!
