    sabots

not sure about cny but I order online and order a large quantity. It is the same shipping cost as ordering one or two packages.
  2. I am going to go, but I am not using the bow. I am using the rifle. I am going to try to whack a bear. Seeing a lot of activity. I think I need to exercise the 300 savage a bit.
  3. early ml all 7 regular season every weekend and until time changes a few evenings a week after work depending on work schedule. If I still havee tage for late ml 3 - 5 depending on weather by then. So a total probably 35-40
  4. ok so what would bne the differenc ebetween taking a brisket shot or shooting from the other end. With todays modern firearms, the bullet will travel pretty much the length of the deer anyway
  5. I would look at a 260. More than 243 less that 7-08 and you can go a bit higher in weight and power
  6. opinions are like butt holes. everyone has one and they stink. Notice I got the butt hole thing in to make it thread worthy And if you remove all the replies that say why are people replying to such a reidculous thread it cuts down the replies considerably.
  7. Again I ask the purpose of writing to the DEC?
  8. isnt that part of qdma? All those big deer it must be in an area they practice it. lol j/k. His butt needs to be turned in.
  9. I was busy thi weekend redoing a bathroom and itchen floor. , But I am gosing to camp next friday and spend the weekend to do just that
  10. but nce you are on the road, it would be very difficult to prove where it was shot if stopped in a check point. It unfortunately happens all the time.
  11. sometimes reality is harsh. What will writing the dec do?
  12. Can't say as I have. I would think it would do a good job, but a mess also.

    flinter

it shot as well as it did last year. As I get older, I am glad it has a peep sight on it. I use 4f in the pan also. at 50 yards 3 inch group, which compared to 25 yeaes ago is sad. But I limit it to 50 yards or so, and I am confident in that range. I use oxyoke .10 thickness patches with bore butter for lube and rws caps. I mold my own balls in .495. It is a sweet gun and shoots very well. I have 4 more weeks, then off to camp for a week to exercise it.

    Scopes?

oh ok. Now I get it. so it just needs longer screws. Easy fix. Yeah I am guessing they put the wrong screws in the package then. Once it is done, you will love it.

    Scopes?

lol now I am more confused. But that is nothing new. it will work out.

    Scopes?

Yeah they have their own mounts and a few after market ones that fit. I am guessing that they just gae you the wrong base as said. Otherwise the barrel is not drilled correctly. If that were the case, I would send it back to cva. Ok I am confused a bit now. I reread ad does the base fit, and the scope does not mount right, or does the base itself no fit? If the base fits and the scope doesnt align right, then it is the rings that need to be changed. The gun shop guy should be able to figure it out.

    flinter

If the weather holds off today, after I get home from earning money, I plan to take the flintlock to the range. I have a T/C flintlock 50 cliber. I use it for early ml season. 80 grains of goex ffg and a patched round ball. I may call in and go now lol.
  18. ok. I guess thena bolt will be the gun for you. Talk to me in a couple years. You asked opinions, from people who had experience with one. I gave my opinion. Now I am being told I am pretty much wrong. Good luck and happy hunting. After you shoot it and swab it between shots and have to tear it down after 3 or 4 shots because the bolt becomes very sticky and does not operate well, due to blow back, you will see what I mean.
  19. yeah but you have to do it every time you shoot it, not once a year.
  20. you guys watch way too many hunting shows. who has the actual time in a real hunting scenario to decide if the deer is of poor genetics or much of anything else? And how does one deterine this without having them penned up like they do on those shows? Go hunt have fun and stop reading so much into it.
  21. unfortunately not that I know of. And yeah it is mor eof a pain than any shotgun I ever cleaned. That is mostly due to it becoming much dirtier as well as tearing the bolt all apart and getting the nipple out is a pain. But I suspect you will learn this in the near future lol.
  22. can you even see them to know which is which?
  23. Good thing you broke down by the park and ride sign. At least they gave you directions for the situation
