They would refer to DEC or state lawmakers, not the SS, so dont start that nonsense. The whole point is, the stuff is allowed to be sold, with no signs saying the products are illegal to use in NY, and then the employees in the stores are telling customers that its legal to use. Simple solution would be to post signs that explain the law. Since food plots are legal, and the products we are talking about are far from seed, Im not sure where your last comment has any relevance. In the first place it is not nonsense. If they as in dec is allowed to tell people in the stores what they can sell and not sell, what is next. We do not need more govt control. I hope this explains it clear enough for you. If not let me know and I will draw a picture.

"They" allow the store to sell it "They" could force the store to stop selling it. Who is "THEY" for starters and I know we are starting to move that way, but we are not a communist state yet. Just do th simple thing and not buy it and "THEY" would not have to worry about it being used. Cigarettes will kill you proven fact maybe "THEY" should force stores to stop selling them. I do not need "THEY" looking that closely over my shoulder and telling me what I can and cant buy. It is not illegal to buy it, so "THEY" have no say in it. Why fault the store selling it. Fault the fool buying it and using it. Or are we supposed o save him from himself. If a person wanted it bad enough, thye could go to a state where it is legal and buy it,(like fireworks) or have it shipped to them. I guess what I am trying to say is if people want it bad enough and plan to break the law and use it, "THEY" can not stop it. If no one bought it, the stores would quit selling it. Maybe THEY" should see when I buy seed where I plant it and what eats it.

how is it entrapment? People willingly buy the stuff and try to illegally use it. Stupidity yes entrapment no

So does T/c require a warranty card. I still have not had any problems.
-
Automobile manufactrers make vehicles that go over the posted speed limits, which is also illegal. It is all about choice. Most greedy people who hunt will use any edge they think they can get away with for bragging rights. If people did not buy them, retailers would not sell them.

so how does one prove that they are the original ower to the manufacturer? Is there some type of registration done when purchasing the bow? Is there a serial number on the bow which is registered to the original owner? These are legit questions I have. T/C also says the same thing, but when I have purchased a used t/c they have always taken care of any concerns I had. My guess yeah he was trying to push new bows.

Chiming in again. I use an encore 25-06 when I drag out a center fire. I shoot nosler partitions 115 grain pushed by hand loads of H4831SC 52.3 grains. They hit hard stay together and wipe out anything in its path on the way through.

oh that one is easy. Most on here are advocating shooting the younger ones. So, if it isnt mandated by law, it will not work voluntarily. Too many need that 40 pounds of meat to survive. Personally, I am against it statewide, as it would be foolish. If things are going to be statewide, make them all statewide. The NZ and SZ have diffeent rules such as opening dates, implements used etc. There is a reason. I find it funny that last year during season, so many were ccmplaining that the population had been all but made extinct due to dec rules, and no one was seeing deer. Now a few months later, a plan that would strengthen the herd is met with so much opposition as there are too many deer. lol. Kind of ironic aint it. As I have said before too may arm chair quarterbacks.

I check all the joints for rust/cracking plu noise. I try to eliminate all squeaks and noises. I also check the tree to be sure there is no damage to it that will impede my safety.

why arent you wearing orange?

Those who think it should be statewide should hunt every wmu for a while before sending out an opinion based on anything but fact. I can not help but think that if a lot of you guys hunted where I do, and only see maybe 3 or 4 deer a season would give up. Yet I am very successful, but I do what I can to keep the deer in the area as well as put in many man hours to be successful. Real hunting is not like you see on a half hour canned hunt. We live in a society of instant gratification and most do not want to put in the time to be really successful. In other words they want a big rack, and not have to work for it. Most complain of they do not see at least that many deer on every trip. So if you were to put those types if restrictions here, when it takes 3 or 4 years to get a dmp, you may as well say please donate your money and not bother to hunt. Then I get called selfish and greedy because I work my butt off toown a piece of hunting property, and I shut out others who do not have the same opportunities. Then a majority want to take away parts of the season and make it archery only. And people wonder why I get upset at the majority of uninformed arm chair quarterbacks. Try it before you decide it needs to be changed.

No need to repeat your BS, I dont care. You are how old again? Come back when you have a home, and kids and bills to pay and some land of your own to be a "steward" for. And you dont know how I or any one else on here really hunts kid, its just the internet, half of these guys like you probaly have never even killed a deer before. Later fellas. so having a home kids and bills and owning land makes you an expert hunter? Seems to me you ae starting the argument and you say this drives you away, but you are still here whining. I am qualified with all your prerequisites and I agree that any one who has ot shoot anything because they "need" the meat is lying. As I said take the hundreds spent on hunting (not being a hunter) and buy meat.
-
take the money spent on guns clothing ammunition bows arrows a license and the gas to go hunting and buy meat.
-
There is a big difference between a hunter and a person who hunts.

Looks good. I picked all the hot and green peppers Tuesday night. They had ended their growth. 3 gallon bags of hot and 6 of green were put in the freezer

no actually now it is back

Bubba, its funny that you see me as narrow minded. I was thinking the same about you. Obviously you were in this conversation for the argument, rather than to enlighten others. I never said "THE GUN is more ethical than "THE BOW" or that "Bow hunters NEED 6 more weeks". I said bowhunting as a whole is more ethical. well unless my math skills are off you said bow should start october 1 then after season go to january 15th. To me that is two weeks early and 4 weeks after. That sure adds up to 6 weeks to me.

well lets see. I am an instructor so I will chime in. It is nearly impossible when hunting heavily hunted public land not to mess with someno, or have someone mess with you. I like to say in my classes if you pull up to a public place and there are a few vehicles there, find another place. Get there early and beat the crowd. Also, I would suggest that you do some preseason scouting and find the places that are less likely to be used. That will familiarize you with the area and make it easier to find your way in early before daylight, and see where the deer generally move. In general most public land is hunted in the easy to get to areas. When we used to hunt state land, we were out in the swamp waiting for the hunters who hunted the high ground to move the deer into the swamp. This meant sometimes water halfway to the knees to get in and to stand in. But, you rarely if ever saw anyone else. You own the public land same as eveyone else, so you have just as much right to hunt it. If you stumble upon someone, it is a risk of public land use. Apologize and move on.

1 person walking through the woods with a bow causes just as much disturbance as one with a gun. Does carrying a bow intead of a gun make one scent free and noise free?
-
I do bow hunt and with a recurve. I suppose because it does not have cams and sights that makes me unethical too? I just see you as very narrow minded. You started this conversation which is a shorten the season thread by saying bowhunters need about 5 or 6 more weeks of alone time in the woods. Then threw out that bows were the most ethical way to kill a deer. Well ethics goes much deeper than just a clean kill. I seriously doubt you understand that though. I see and chase more poorly wounded deer with arrows than I ever have with a gun. But I gues I do not hunt with the perfect archer. I bet the next statement will be you never wounded a deer with a bow and lost it, or a gun either. You are the poster boy for ethics, even though you threw the word out and never really defined eithics other than a clean kill. I would suggest you learn what it is before you use it.
