  1. Well, I would say if theyhad time to gut it and be dragging it, I would think you would not have had to be on your hands and knees tracking it. It was either dead somewhere, or they killed it. I am so glad I am not so greedy as to claim a deer I did not harvest.

  3. Wild I can tsay anything that hanst already been said. May I use your example in my next class as an example of true sportsmanship and a great example of the ethical thing to do? you will be rewrded greatly. Now as mentioned, enough yacking go get the one you deserve for doing this.

    New GUY

Welcome and thank you for your service. Soldiers such as yourself are the reason we can stay home and hunt. Wen you get back, and if you hunt in NY, there is a place at my camp for you to try your luck anytime.
  7. I love it. two pages of responses to an I am going to take my ball and go home. Stick around, you can obvioulsy get responses on your threads.
  8. I actually lost mine out of a fanny pack a few years ago. xpensive to purchase and almost as expensive to replace at 10 bucks a tag
  9. I am shocked no one has dissed crossbows. YET
  10. My rack from this year is quite dark at the base and the further you go to the tips, the lighten up. Here is a pic
  11. I carry mine in my shirt pocket. I think the nz is excluded because we dont shoot at each other even when we wear camo, and everyone knows everyone, so I call them by name not number. Plus the yellow really sticks out against my camo pattern.

most of the rifles, I have I own now because of family members who have passed. I take them out for a walk once in a while.
  13. thank you for the information. My brother had a 30-30 takedown my ncle left him. Unfortuntely his need for illegal narcotics outweighed the need for the gun.
  14. I resized some 308 into 300 savage. I am not sure about the 303, but the 300 is a rimless cartridge, and the 30-30 is rimmed, so it would not work. Actually the 308 was a resized 300 savage with a longer neck. It is an awesome cartridge.

thank you. This has been a greta year for me. Last year I saw one deeer all season
  16. I will look up ballistics on the ammo website such as remington or winchester. I get their data for thier loads, for the bullet I want to use, and do my best to match it while reloading. Thiis has worked well for me.
  17. I took a doe with the model 99 300 savage this evening. paced off 125 yards. I was usung 150 grain hornady bullets with 39 grains of IMR 4895. Well long story short she fell in a pile. I love the caliber. I havd a barrel custom made fo rmy encore, but sold it. I kick my butt ever since.
  18. I filled my dmp today. So that means I am done deer hunting until late muzzleloading. I guess bear and small game in in my future. I harvested an 8 point with my encore 25-06, and a doe today wth my dad's now my 300 savage. I am heading to camp withmy mother's winchester pre 64 model 94 30-30 to try to get a bear. It has been an awesome season so far. Oh yeah maybe a little pheasant hunting too
  19. It will limit me to weekends as I do not get done work until 4pm. By the time I get home and get changed, it will be dark.
  20. I am a fan of the 06. But put 25 in front of it. Hard hitting flat shooting low recoil and deadly. But as Ed stated if you dont plan to load, think about it cuz ammo is expensive, but all ammo is getting expensive. 115 grain nosler partition and 50.5 grains of IMR 4831 you will not go wrong. I am also a fan of single shots, but I choose an encore.
  21. I am so glad the only perso I have to answer to is me. It makes life much easier
  22. I prefer mid day as the season progresses. I have taken more deer between 10am and 2 pm. When most guys are coming our from their morning watch, I am settling in. The deer pattern hunters, and seem to move more when the pressure is down.
