  1. LOL!!! Great, rage, booze and guns a great mix. LOL
  2. I find that copper sabots seem to not expand very well, especially on short distance shots. They just burn right through the deer leaving a little hole. I once shot a small 8 point at 20 ft broadside. Deer never flinched just stood there looking at me then started walking away. I then shot him 3 more times before he fell over. All 4 shots were in a hand size pattern through his lungs. I was flabergasted. I then switched to muzzleloader and used the T/C sabots. Same results small hole little blood to follow. I now use the Hornady XTP hollow points. They leave a hand size hole with lots of blood to follow.
  3. I would have went over to the line and shot 2 slugs into my stand then called the state police and said he shot at me. Its his word against yours and you can show them where he shot from by the empty shotgun shells on the ground. Then as he is rotting in prison go sit in his stands and shoot his deer.
  4. Thats why I treat every shot like its a hit and track it out for atleast 300 yrds in the direction the deer ran. Even if I think its a clean miss. Ive shot deer with sabots that never dropped a single drop of blood, I could find, till they dropped.
  5. I know some people dont like the slow trigger speeds on the stealth cams but for the price they have never done me wrong. Ive had mine in the woods for almost a yr now and all I do is recharge the battery. Takes good pics, just need to make sure you face cam down the trail, or put on a food plot or scrape so you get good pics.
  6. Daughter was sick yesterday so I couldnt get out. Today was very cold and from the rain Monday everything was frozen solid. Was kind of like walking on bags of potato chips. After about a half hr of this I gave up and went home. Deer werent moving and quiet stalking was out of the question. On a side note the baiter I have refered to in other posts has found his food block and returned it to his stand which now gets him a call to the DEC. Im done messing with this guy!!!!
  7. Awe your gonna get your PP wacked!!! Race is off limits!! Gays and everyone else are fare game here Though ! Our land in Kirkwood is full of black squills. Also see alot of them on the Islands around the St Lawrence River.
  8. Holy Crap!!!!Wolly you are a shed god!!! I was hoping to see a buck during muzzleloader but Im not to sure now. Guy over on the bowsite said he has seen up to 5 bucks who have dropped and pick up a few already also. I dont think it has anything to do with the weather. We have had worse weather in the past than we have now and the deer havent dropped this early then. Going to get on the shed hunting as soon as muzzleloader is over!!
  9. He was born that way. Lets not judge now!
  10. Im not Anti and Im not against trapping. Im just concerned there are people on here who are posting pics that are uncalled for and tasteless and can be used against you as animal torture. Use your F'n head!!!!! You trappers are your own worst enemys. I expect to see the pic of the Raccoon hanging by his leg on an anti site soon and someone should have the common decency to remove it. Trapping provides an invaluable service to game management and there are enough bone heads messing things up we dont need anymore.
  11. Can't say that I blame him. He was up before dawn and his day didnt end till way after dark lookin after the everyday workings of the farm. Only time he got to shoot something. Not to mention he needed a tractor to haul his 300 lbs frame around. He was a good man just trying to make a living not some half wit drunken slob hunter riding around in his truck, to lazy to walk out into the woods. He loved his cigars though, I can still remember riding around in his truck during the winter with the windows rolled up and him puffin away on the cigars. Died on the operating table getting a heart tune up. His fields are now full of houses. Its a real shame. Anyhow good luck finding the sheds. There is a guy over on the BOWSITE that has already seen 4 bucks that have shed and has picked up a few drops.
  12. Seems to me there would be better ways to spend money than buying enough fence to enclose 10 thousand acres. Especially just for hunting, some people will waste money on anything.
  13. Id still buy the T/C, Yes a cheaper model will do the job but its just that cheap and not made in the USA. They also make a cheaper no thrills model of T/C for $300 that is made in the USA. Keep Americans working and dump the spanish junk CVA's and Traditions. If you can save up $300 you can save up $600. Just sayin. http://www.tcarms.com/firearms/muzzleloaders.php
  14. Geez now I understand why people dont like trapping. Ill have to remember to not look at this thread. WTH!!
  15. So far not one set of keeper antlers has walked by for gun! Still have a tally of 2 doe. Was going to go out yesterday for the first day of muzzleloader but it wouldnt stop raining. Hope to get out today and atleast get another doe. Been seeing alot of doe so that shouldnt be to hard. Not expecting to see a buck but stranger things have happened.
  16. erussell

    First deer!

Congrats!! And with the ole front stuffer to! Not to shabby.
  17. I highly doubt they would high fence 30 thousand acre's. Are you talking about low fence? Which is basicly no fence since a deer can jump it. Which is not canned hunting.
  18. I worked for a local farmer back in the day who use to spread manure and carry his 16 gauge along for the ride. Twice I heard a bunch of shootin and then he would drive back up later with a monster in the spreader.
  19. prohunters are nice. You can change out the barrels with whatever caliber you get a hankerin for.
  20. I dont give a crap what you do in your woods. Just give me warning so I dont have to see it.
  21. Watched my uncle kill a running doe the other day with a single shot shotgun he got as a teen. Doe was at 65 yrds running at a good clip and one shot planted her on the next hop. Now I pride myself at being a good shot but ive never seen someone who could consistently do this evertime, like him. All I could think was dont pizz him off because you dont have a chance even if your running.
  22. Spend the money and get a good T/C it will save you a world of grief later.
  23. I was hunting today about 200 yrds behind some houses. There is a bunch of shooting down below me and I see deer running up the hill. I get ready only to have one of the neighbors start up a chainsaw and the deer veered off in another direction. Now the tree he was cutting up was one that he cut down just before Sandy came through so it wouldnt fall on his house. So its been layin there for that long. And just as I have deer run to me he decides hes going to cut it up. WTH!!!!! Then it gets better. I stayed there just incase they come back and the saw shuts off. Im like hey nice and quite again. Then I hear a commotion about 60 yrds away and the guy is walking up through the woods with a white hard hat on. He has his back to me and doesnt see me then procedes to cut down another tree. It falls and he walks away. WTH!!!!!
