Loved to hear the dogs & hunt the bunnies years ago. We use to hunt the state land around Birdsall years ago for grouse & rabbits. We would camp by the old fire tower(gone now) Always had a great time. Do you hunt anywhere near there & do you see many grouse ? We always did well back then, 40 + yrs. ago! Dam I am getting old!

I do this with the old carpet, at least an arrow length away from the target. it works perfect shooting at 55#'s.

I was going to say that ! Can't everyone ? In my dreams Lol!

I got a pair of Sportsman's Guide Gear 2400 gm. thinsulate rubber boots this past season & they actually seemed to work. I sat for hours on some really cold days & my feet never got cold. The other thing is they warranty them for ever as long as you have the original receipt they will replace them & upgrade them . My buddy has sent back a pair for cracked rubber & they sent a new pair no questions asked.

Does this go along with it's mine & I'll use as much soap & wash it as long & as much as I want ?? lol

Alden , Allied sportsman, Colden, Elma conservation clubs all have trap leagues, winter & summer. I used to shoot at all of these years ago. & all I ever used was a trap grade Rem. 870. 12 ga. & I agree its the shooter not the gun that makes the good shots.

Alpaca Socks are the way to go! I bought 2 pr. for my wife this past X-mas & she loves them(she always has cold feet). Guys that I worked out side with for 40 yrs swore by them. I Always wore the marino socks without a problem. I am going to buy myself some Alpaca's for next yr. along with some gloves if I can find them. They are not cheap but they work!

Nice job looks great!

Tried all the substitutes (per/Dr. advice) then found that real butter was better for the cholesterol levels after all. The margarine & subs. don't break down like real butter does. Yrs. back "Don't eat eggs!" scare now all is good & should eat some a couple times a wk. Studies well drive us all nuts!

Go ! I would love to go. Tried to talk the wife into it the last few years & no dice. I didn't go on elk hunts 30 yrs. ago & regret it to this day. I watch " Whalers Cove , fishing paradise" (one of the outdoor channels) & would love it! I just saw a guy (on the show) that grew up fishing on the east end of lake Ontario who is now a guide for Whalers Cove fishing charters. Very cool imo. You should go.

I believe Rossi & H&R makes one also.

I would like to think I would be the last line of defense to protect my home & family also. I don't believe the Gov't. will be around when it gets down to the nitty, gritty of things. I think they will all be covering their own arsses. One would also think in this day & age with all the illegal's & crap coming at us from all directions that our gov't. would stop trying to take our guns away & be more like Switzerland & encourage gun ownership. People with any military training are encouraged to keep firearms in their homes. They are also encouraged to do practice & recreational shooting by their gov't.. They have one of the highest private gun ownerships in the world. Seems like a good idea! jmo.

I was at Beikrich's gun shop in Rochester yesterday & they haven't seen any 22's since 3 weeks before X-mas. & don't know when/if they might get any.

We know it wasn't bent when he put it in there, but it was when he took it out. All he did was drive from home to camp. Thank you.
-
My father bent his by laying it in the back seat of his car & putting his hunting out fit & boots on top of it. It really doesn't take much it's just a thin walled tube. A friend bent his by lowering it down from his climbing tree stand, leaned it against the tree he was in then climbed down over the top of it with the stand ='s bent barrel ! We lol about it now, but he was pi$$ed at the time!

Looking to get a shotgun barrel rifled.
hunter49 replied to thunnus's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Try a gun show, I picked up a 20 ga. ; rifled 24" cantilever for a Mossberg 3yrs. ago for $ 125. Just a thought. -
We have Direct TV . We tried Dish & imo it suc*ed! I enjoy the 3 Outdoor channels that Direct has. It was cheap the first 2 yrs. (contract) then the price jumped up. We called & said we were going to change providers They let us keep the price we had & I got the Outdoor channel plus the 2, I already had, Pursuit & Sportsman. Good service too. Works for me.

Looking to get a shotgun barrel rifled.
hunter49 replied to thunnus's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I believe Cabela's, Bass pro, Dick's, Wal -mart , Gander, all sell Rem. rifled barrels for the 870. Also Mossberg makes an after market barrel for the Rem. 870. or at least they did. -
Go with new barrel & screw in chocks & keep it forever or until the gov't. takes it away
-
That looks really good! Nice job!
-
Maybe it got bent in/by the mail. If it was insured go for a new one other wise send it back asap!

If they stopped all Buck hunting.
hunter49 replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
Would still be out there. Take a mature doe for the freezer. But I enjoy watching the deer & learning their ways. My best day this year was watching a 6 pt. & a 4 pt. bristle up & walk stiff legged around each other ready to spar 10 yds. away for 10 min. before running off. Or just being there at the right time to enjoy the rut. I could always hunt with a camera, see the bucks, get close and snap a pic., hunting the same but don't do the killing. I have also learned turkey hunting is not all about the kill but doing the calling , seeing the strut & hearing the gobble. -
