6 rounds, 6 deer, how many does a guy need? lol wishful thinking!

Gun is a Ruger Mini 30, 7.62x39.

I hunted bear in Quebec 3-4 yrs ago & imo. it was not a good time. 4 guys sat in tree stands over baits for 5 days from 3pm to 10:30 pm in rain 2 days. We ended up with 1, 220 # bear shot & that's all we saw. And one night on the way back to camp (at 10:30) the side by side atv got a flat tire & no spare., we ended up walking back to camp about 5 miles with guns & gear on our backs! Just a bad time all the way around! But be sure to wear/take head net & gloves & get a Therma cell , They really work great! or the bugs will drive you crazy! Your hunt already looks (pics) & sounds better than our was. Good luck.

FYI, while your waiting for better temps. check out you tube video by Frank Burgin "Correct way to mount a scope" your problem solve may be as easy as turning the scope ring mounts around or setting the scope rings properly .

Just wondering, anyone use 7.62x39 rifle for deer or to small? My son-in-law is looking into maybe getting one. Any thoughts?

I shot a buck a few yrs. ago with a jagged broken front leg just above the ankle, didn't look like a gun shot wound at all.

I have a bike/walking trail in my back yard & during hunting(gun) season the town closes it down to the public. They put up gates at all the road crossings along with signs stating why it is closed & the properties around it can be hunted. Given the size of this park I would think something like this could be done.

I had an 1100 that I almost wrapped around a tree due to that dam O- ring! Never shot it again& sold it! All pump action guns now.

I don't agree with ARs. I don't feel the state or anyone has the right to tell a kid he can't shoot a 4 pt for his first buck bc it doesn't have enough pts.! The other thing is I buy property, pay the taxes on it, do food plots & other improvements on it & someone tells me I can't shoot what I want more BS. Myself & friends that hunt the property impose our own ARs most won't shoot anything less than a really nice 6 pt. or better. (one guy shot a 19.5" wide 6 pt this season). If someone wants a doe for the freezer more power to him & same goes for the kid that wants to shoot his first spike buck. Meat or trophy hunter, shoot what YOU want!

I heated with wood for 10 yrs. did the load of logs, chunked it, split it, stacked it out back, moved & stacked it in garage, put in stove, carried out ashes, & 1 chimney fire. That totals up to 5x's worth of heating/sweat & dirt! It was a family affair, the splitting & stacking part when the kids were here. Enough was enough! Now I just turn up the thermostat and smile!

Does anyone know if you put an auto bolt lock on the Ruger 10/22 will the bolt stay open on it's own after the magazine is empty? Thanks!

How about a nice chrome skull with the antlers screwed on. Talk about tacky! My son-in -law had one whitened & mounted on wood for $50 bucks, dropped it off , picked it up & hung it on the wall, no muss no fuss and it looks good.!

FYI, my 20 gage shoots Hornady SST's real good. If you don't already know what your gun shoots well you might want to try some SST's. Good luck looks like you got a super deal!

Nice! I have the 10/22 with fiber stock which I would really like to replace with a factory wood stock on. I don't see to many factory made stocks for sale.

Looks like our friendly FFL's are not on our side charging an "administration fee" or maybe they donate to the cause to repeal the "safe act"! lol.
