Funny you say that, I've come across three during the day while turkey hunting , and saw one this morning in a grass field jogging back n forth for almost a half our , must have been playing whack-a-mole with the woodchuck holes ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had a little chat n best I got was "sorry dude" a shoulder shrug n walked off ... Good news is the birds were still there first thing after similar events yesterday so gonna try again tmorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ya I went silent too, too bad for the second fricken day in a row had a dog with a beeping tracking collar come runnin through , sniffed the decoys n left .... Even left a courteous note yesterday on the car saying it was turkey season and if they wouldn't mind bringing the dog out till 11 or so ... The note tday will not be so nice ... As I picked my stuff up and circled around to the other side of the wood lot , there was the tom n he ran, dammit!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

4 seasons worth ... Ain't my first rodeo either .... Did have em hammerin 1st thing a week ago to live crows at first light but haven't had any luck later on in the morning with it... Have had owls sound off a bunch with no gobbles along with me callin only to see birds that morning too .... Sorry I don't have dinasaur age experience up here but I can speak from hard experience at least on public land here in 9h and 8g ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've had good luck with the owl hooter in Florida , but have yet to get an answer with either the hooter or crow call up here... Actually called in an owel two weeks ago in the evening trying to locate a bird for the next morning .. We called back n forth for almost 15 minutes until he flew in and landed in the tree I was leaning against ... Never a gobble in all that ... And that's an area I have experience with birds roosting. ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Night hunting for coyotes - gear needed?
deerpassion replied to jrm's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
That's what the second hand held LED is for , same deal as ur talkin about with shining em, but I thought you were saying your head lamp was your only light cause as u cheek up to the stock to look through the scope that head lamp beam is no longer on target but at an angle , but you added the gun light so that solves that issue ... Think about trying to keep a headlamp on target while bringing your cheek to the rifle/scope... Not gonna work n one more thing you have to think about in that high pressure situation sometimes... Like I said earlier I have two Cree LED's both in green ... I mount one the scope with the pressure switch , and then I use the other handheld to periodically scan so I'm not having to move the gun around for light... And it is a lot of lumens but doesn't seem to bother em.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I've got 2 Cree Green LED's that wound to my regular deer scope on my 30-06 .... I would have to look but I think they are both around 500 lumens with I can easily illuminate out to 150 +.... Reticle shows up just fine , like having night vision in your scope when the LED's on .... You may want to opt for a light that comes with a pressure switch ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hens seem to be scattering , had two loan hens at different times come moseying by and bumped 2 hens from their nests on the way to the truck yesterday... Couple more days n hopefully the gobbling will pick up.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
