Tell me about it, 2 out of 4 are still working (knock on wood) will NEVER , EVER spend money on that brand or anything affiliated with it !!!! Junk!!!

It's about 11 ir 12 ft up ... Public land so.... It's a pretty tiny cam to begin with , can barely notice it even if ya knew it was up there....
-
well, been a tough year for the cameras so far, so he's the best i've got so far, along with a few smaller 6's n a 7 n plenty a doe's.... but this cam is right across the street from Indian land n they've got some nice bucks in there, just waiting for them to wander over ... this spot had 7 different scrapes in it last year but neglected to find this spot till the end of gun, so im stoked for the last 2 weeks a bow in there this year .... also got what i think is a dog???

I've got a savage m-111 in 30-06 synthetic stock combo with a bushnell scope on it shootin 150 gr fushion.... Love it!!! Past three years I've taken it outa the case to check zero before season and it hasn't changed a bit... Longest kill with it was a 175 lb boar hog in Florida at 325 ish ... Past couple trips to gander I've seen 308 on the shelf just as often as 30-06 is available .... And when do we ever buy a new toy when we've "got the money", lol... Never works out that way for me but hey, a man needs his toys!!!!

sounds good, but holy SALT!!

Frog togs are excellent for keeping u dry... When your out on the boat.... Those things are wicked uncomfortable and wayyyy too noisey for bow hunting ... I'd sacrifice a little bit a wet but over makin a bunch a racket drawin back any day.... Ur oh so right though , rain gear is a give n ttake relationship unfortunately these days ....

just developed a new PRE-SHOT ROUTINE...CHECK IT OUT!!
deerpassion replied to regulat0r's topic in Bow Hunting
That's a great point, chuck Adams says when he's gettin ready for the shot he says to himself "it's probly not gonna work out" so he doesn't get cocky n fudge it up! I've taken those words of wisdom seriously ! -

just developed a new PRE-SHOT ROUTINE...CHECK IT OUT!!
deerpassion replied to regulat0r's topic in Bow Hunting
To each his own .... Whatever gets er done .... Used to practice like that first couple years , got to a point where I was concentrating on all that n things would fall by the wayside in the heat of the moment like looking ahead at multiple shot openings relative to his route and possible preranged yardages... Now I practice like , oh there's a deer, how far is he , and concentrating on a spot as I draw letting the bow come up naturally and boom... I do that enough during practice and its automatic in the field ... I would say for me the only thing that goes through my head as I draw on a live deer is how far is he , reciting 20 , 30 etc in my head ... Definitely helps dull the nerves and insure I get the right pin on em ... Be interested to hear what others have to say about what goes through there mind in the heat of the moment to keep it together... Cause we all know its useless to try n breath n keep ur heart from beaten outa ur neck lol... 24 more days !!!!!! -
Thanks for the input guys , I carry a tree umbrella in my pack at all times , too small n light not to ... Allows me to brave those down poors n be ready when it stops... So I guess all I'm really lookin for is somethin to keep me dry to n from the stand and from what rain hits me that the umbrella doesn't take care of ... So I think I'm gonna go ahead n get the creek side gear ... See how she does...
-
anyone ever have a set of "creek side" rain gear? ganders having a sale on it online and its gotten some good reviews, but im a little leary buying rain gear that I can't put my hands on first.... I miss the old basic rain gear as a shell, cant stand all this soft fabric rain gear advertised as 100 % water proof and after you wash it once it soaks through ....

Haha , woops ,,, in that case there ARE magic pills lol ... But , I for one havnt experienced any difinitive results with scents except for pre-orbital gland on a lickin branch n my own home brew tinkle in a mock scrape comprised of a daily multivitamin, vitamin b , fish oil , n water haha... Doe pee on my boots for the walk in has definitely had negative reactions on my trail in , coin urine is a great ground cover scent , specially when I always get quite a few on cam ...
-
Amen! Mr Winky never uses scents or any a that gadget crap... He stresses scouting , patterning , wind , and dam near bullet proof entry/exit...
-
Coon urine on boots , have come across a few doe's that have spooked comin across my trail in when sprayed with doe pee... Other than that some pre-orbital on a licking branch, sparingly bleat, and a grunt here n there unless I have eyes on a buck that's goin the wrong way...
-
Just had the last pack a ground meat last week, looks good I can almost smell it.. Come on oct 1st! Can't wait for a Cajun injected, bacon wrapped oven roasted victory roast... !
