  5. 8f- was seeing lots of birds. Slowed down a bit as of late. Got up early saturday mornig and heard one gobble across the road from where i hunt. Gobbled a bunch on the roost then barely once he hit the ground. Seen 8 toms with about 3-4 jakes and a few hens dew days ago....again across the road from where i can hunt. Going to take a gamble an hunt 8p thursday morning. Havent had a chance to do any real in depth scouting down there. Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  6. Congrats! Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  7. Heard gobbles from across the road this morning. Fresh tracks on my side. Im thinking this year will be no different at this spot....its an after 9 spot lol. Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  8. Heard one this morning, fairly vocal but shut right up once he hit the ground. Strange because the area he was in, is where ive seen the monster gobbler and about 5-6 other gobblers. Maybe its him and hes got all the other boys rattled! Thursday may 1 cant come soon enough! Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  9. Problem for me is its a fairly busy road and about 150 yards from my set of woods to the other set of woods that ive been seeing them. I think we may try the hen decoy on my side of woods and see if we cant coax them to cross Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  10. Cant walk the property unfortunately. I think this weekend im going to sit and listen and see if they cross or what happens. Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  11. Appears to be hen tracks and ive seen an old big boss hen in this spot for years. She towers over gobblers haha! Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  12. So ive got a dilemma. Every morning when i pick my fiance up from work, on the way back we have spotted at least 6 gobblers...across the road from where i can hunt. Usually no more than 30 yards off the road. Went scouting last night and found this on my side of the road... Wondering if they eventually cross over or if this is a whole nother flock of birds thats on my side. Cant hunt the other side, have asked for years with a very polite no the answer. During my scouting i saw a set of tracks that are by far the biggest gobbler tracks ive ever seen. And just a few mornings ago we saw probably the biggest gobbler ive ever seen, beard dragging and it looked like a mop head instead of paint brush lol. Any tips or tricks you can think of? Its obvious i have birds on my side but not sure when they are coming thru. Cant use trail cams for fear of theft. One last tidbit, ive taken a bird in this spot pretty much every year after 9/930 am... Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk

  14. First year, first time ever turkey hunting on my dads land. Had a push pull call since i was green, and some inflatable sceery decoys. I set them up all walking in a line and proceeded to climb into my deer stand. Yes i climbed in my stand because no one had told me to do any different lol. About 20 mins after daylight i used the push call and heard a gobbler off to my left about 80 yards. Ten minutes went by and i hit the call again and he gobbled about 50 yards off to my left. I was confused but stayed still. Next thing i know i hear this weird ticking sound and what sounded like a snake rustling in the leaves....he was spitting and fanning out lol. My last clue was i only put 4 decoys out, i now had 5 and one was moving. Setting them up in the dark i didnt realize i placed them directly behind a few pine trees. He finally stepped out at about 22 yards and i shot. The old h&r 20gauge buckled him. Ended up being an old bird weighing around 21-22 lbs, double beards 10 1/2, 9 7/8 long. One nice spur just over an inch and the other was wore right down. Best part was this bird had actually walked in front of my dad at 60 yards and wouldnt commit. Dad said he was on a mission to find my rookie greenhorn calling lol! Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  15. Seen the same 6 strutters across the street from my hunting spot. Just about every morning for a week now Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  16. Not hearing them but i found some nice tracks yesterday and saw 6 longbeards this morning. One was an absolute giant! The term paintbrush...doesnt apply, more like mop head lol best part is they were straight across the road from a spot i hunt...looking to cross the road Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
  17. H&R 12 gauge. You can see most of it lol Sent from the woods
  18. Yes i will Sent from the woods
  19. Seeing them...but not hearing them yet Sent from the woods
  20. Any word? Sent from the woods
  21. I have them in glass slate or aluminum! Sent from the woods
  22. I like getting them close, just like deer hunting. I dont see the need for any turkeys shot past 35/40 yards. If you cant get them closer than maybe its time to work on your calling or setup. Thats just my opinion. Back to the topic at hand....im going to try the kents and longbeards today and see what happens. Sent from the woods
