There are zero deer in wayne county.

I am a right handed shooter. Few years ago i had a real bad go around with target panic. I was missing left and right. But i dealt with it and now im almost too calm when i go full draw. I cradle the bow and i shoot open handed. All my points where i know i can release an arrow were there. Like i said it was strange because i didnt miss a little, i missed ALOT.

So weve had a big spike in our area for a few years now. Big body deer probably weighs 130 or so. Just never gets anything more on his dome but two little spikes. Heck i dont think they are even three inches lol. Had him come in first thing this morning...in the one spot that we dont want them to come in. He didnt spook but kinda milles around to my left for a bit. Was finally able to move and go full draw at 15 yards. I watched as my arrow literally went to the left of the deer by a good ten feet and behind him a good ten feet. Never seen it before. He bounded and stopped. I grabbed another arrow and he milled back into 20 yards in front of me. Knew i should aim low as hes kinda nervous and jerky at this point. Let it fly and his belly hit the ground, arrow clipped some back hair dead center of where it was supposed to go! He gave me another shot behind me but id already missed twice, figured didnt need to even think about it. Still not sure what happened to my first arrow. It left the bow and went immediately left. No twigs or limbs its all open. Checked my fletchings they are fine, and the string didnt hit my arm. Kinda stumped actually. Buddy asked if i had shot my broadheads, yes they are dead on. Kinda weird! But my luck keeps getting better haha!

Had a big body spike we have been trying to take out since last year at 15 yards this morning. Somehow i had equipment failure and the arrow didnt go anywhere near the deer. He milled around and got 20 yards in front of me....sent another arrow and ive never seen a deer lay down on its belly that fast. I even aimed low thinking he would jump the string. Little depressed but what are ya gonna do...it happens!

Zero deer sightings for me so far this weekend. Headed out in the morning to try an get a crack at one!

Its kinda strange they keep coming back to the same spot...almost the same time every nite. Even after they blow at me. Must be the apples

Father in law saw a big group of does go thru today. 4 good sized does and 6 fawns. Said they bed down not too far from this spot. Said the scrapes(that i peed in ) also got hit again!

Looking for an 8f. Missed the deadline :/ got some archery stuff if ya need it! I can even fletch up some arrows for ya!

I hunted a different stand tonite. As im in the stand i think to myself i should be on the ground in my spot. Thought better of it and stayed put. As im walking out i have to walk by where i normally sit...and wouldnt you know it, those two does are in there near the apple trees blowing at me lol. Its time to let the air out of one!

I would do the same thing. Dress up warm and head back out!

Its the truth. Any deer taken with a bow, no matter how big or small is an accomplishment. Dont let anyone tell you differently:)

Ive got some manicuring to do for this weekend. Might move the seat to a different section of this area. Ill get one! Its obvious they like this area as theyve blown at us and ended up back in there the next night.

These two are def the queens of this area. Always traveling together and always blowing. Theyve busted me an my son, and another buddy that hunts with us. Had i been sitting on the ground again tonite like normal...they wouldve come in to the apple trees again. Thats where they blew at me tonight. My dad says its time to let the air out of one...or both

I decided to sit in a different stand this evening. Mostly because i keep getting busted in my other spot. About an hour left of hunting i keep telling myself i should go to my ground spot. Thought better of it and stayed put. So i get down outta my stand and i have to walk by my other spot....as i do i hear a deer blow at me. Are you kidding me!?!?!? The same two does bound out from about twenty yards in front of my ground spot. For those of you that dont know...these two does have busted me three times now in the same spot. And tonite they did it again an i wasnt even hunting there. I had to laugh because it has officially become personal!

Ill second the "what did the blood trail look like"? And im sure itll get beaten to death but choose better shots. I wont harp on it because ive been there...and no matter what they say everyone else has probably made a less than perfect shot on deer.

Headed to a stand ive only hunted once from so far. Normally a stand i see a good number of deer from. Wind seems about perfect for it! Give it a whirl and see what happens! Good luck to anyone hunting tonite!

Went out last nite for a bit. Dad got a doe, friend hit an 6 or 8 pt in the rear...arrow went in about 2 inches. Tracked on pin drops for close to 200 yards. He went back this morning to the last blood and continued the search....nothing. my son an i got busted by the same two does. Its personal now! Gonna manicure my ground spot and try an evening hunt.
