Welcome aboard James! Good luck to you too!

Wish i had one. Always wanted one for turkey hunting. I may try the turkey decoys. At this point im willing to try anything to get another shot in this spot. Its become person lol

Dont even really need to make a blind inside of them. So much undergrowth its pretty much a natural blind. May have to trim a few shooting lanes but im not sure thats even necessary. Ill be there again this weekend so ill put in my homework!

I thought alot about it last night and this morning. I sat in the same spot last year and never got busted once. Even had thr biggest buck ive ever seen come in following a doe. But he had her on his mind and couldnt get him to stop for anything. My thoughts are whats already been stated, i need to break myself up more. Some stuff in front of me as well as behind me. Last season i had all sorts of sticks and brush leaning on the tree i sit in. As well as in front of me. It wasnt much but apparently it was just enough. Gonna go down around noon or so and do some manicuring. Then possibly hunt around 4. They have been moving thru here everyday wether i got busted or not so....only time will tell!

You guys gave me my laugh for the day

Oops double post

Im as scent free as humanly possible!
-
It might be possible. But its super super thick. Ill take a peek next time i go over

Gonna have my father in law keep an eye on the scrapes. He swears he sees a buck come across the road almost everyday. So we shall see! But im also thinking the fallen down barns might be a great setup point

Ive got a tag with one of their names on it

Im up against a tree, but to be honest im wondering if my camo might be too dark. Sounds odd but for some reason i bet i look like a huge blob up against the tree. I dug out some other camo and going to give that a try. Also dug out my facemask for turkey hunting. After the hunt im going to make some brush piles in front of me and behind me as well. It used to be like that but seems as though its gotten thin. I WILL harvest a deer from the ground! Its on my bucket list!

Tomorow morning im using my facemask and my newer camo. Then after the hunt ill start messing with a natural style blind in that same spot.

The farthest i can shoot in this area is 25 yards. Literally once i see them they are in range. But there are certain areas where i can see them from a distance.
-
I have to agree. They must know i just dont look right lol

My dad is dropping some off in the morning. Figure itll help a bit. Im somewhat already brushed in but id like some more. It may be a dead giveaway but only to those two dang does. Ive already had a few walk by and not even look at me. Unfortunately they were either real small or out of range. Im gonna do some work to it before this weekend.

All three times ive been downwind....its getting ridiculous!

So tonite makes three times now these 2 does have busted and blown at me. I saw them well before they saw me. And one blew. She was trying to fake me out and i never moved an inch. Any tips concerning ground hunting. Basically there are no trees suitable for stands. I have a hangon stand about 6 inches off the ground. Ive seen a ton of deer already and im getting a lil upset that it keeps happening. Help!

I have one spot where i only mid day hunt. Never seen deer morning or evening. Its worth it i think in just about any area that holds deer
-
Nothing. Alot of them fell in on themselves. I was actually thinking the same thing. Gonna see if we can put a cam here and see if the buck was just stopping by or if hes using this area
-
Just to clarify this is in the middle of nowhere on 50 acres
-
This is literally 70 yards from my father in laws back porch. Those are old barns, and in that opening i just discovered not one but two fresh scrapes. Probably made today or yesterday. He saw a deer in this opening but couldnt make out what it was. Said good sized. Hes been seeing a buck cross the road and go right thru this area. So would you hunt in there with say a treeseat near a barn?
