  1. I drove by so many fields today hoping to see that....i saw nothing but deer. Hoping it gets better or i fear for me itll be a repeat of last season :/
  2. Ive called more birds in using a mouth call. Maybe thats just me but ive seen birds in fields hens included who wouldnt respond to a box or a slate call. The second i use the mouth call heads go up and they are searching for me. Not to say that box or slate calls dont work because they do. Just my experience has been i get a more realistic sound from a mouth call. Again that is just me and obviously experiences differ. But back on topic she is gettin better at it and has also gotten herself to try some slates out!
  3. Wondering if anyone has hunted there before. Its somewhat close to me and if someone wanted to go with id be glad to hunt with a partner. Anyone hunted there?
  4. As stated above set it on a box and leave it there for a bit. Or the hair dryer trick works too.
  5. I was thinking of running some fishing line to the decoy to add some movement. For those non windy days.
  6. Anybody ever use the foam fit style from quaker boy? Seems as though that might be a good option in this case.
  7. Shes gotta return something today anyways. I was thinking of telling her to grab a quaker boy or the baby face. Probably go with the quakerboy beginner. But i think its regular size and she tried one of my doubles last nite and still too wide. Even if i trimmed it.
  8. She picked up a primos sonic dome tonite. Figured the dome would help her get the call situated properly....well she has a small palate lol so now we are searching for a good beginners small palate/youth call. Looking at possibly flextones baby face or something from quaker boy. Any ideas?
  9. Pick up a cherokee sports jake with the molded head. Easy on the wallet and the detail is awesome.
  10. I got the ones with the molded heads. Are those the ones you got? Really great detail
  11. With the old arrows does it allow alot more movement?
  12. Anybody else use em? I have a few i got in a flock pack from sceery years ago. Along with a few cherokee sports ones with the molded heads. I like em and the turkeys dont seem to mind them either!
  13. Im getting anxious to go listen early in the morning! Get a couple of these warm weekends and ill be out!
  14. P.s. i checked out the extended forecast and it looks like maybe we will be right on schedule!
  15. Last season was weird for me. Way too much green up for normal turkey season around here. I believe we had a good hatch last year so hopefully we will have the same this season. I did drive by one of my spots the other day and saw a flock with tons of hens and jakes. Normally ill see a bunch of jakes and maybe two hens but it seemed to have equalled out now. And yes there was two beard draggers....big beard draggers!
  16. Will this extended cold push the breeding cycle later?
  17. Lol its all good. Kind of wish i had a 20 though. Maybe once life starts to pick up again ill be able to replenish my weapon situation!
  18. I wish i had a 20 gauge :/ but thank you!
  19. Kind of the same thoughts i had. Smaller shot size and keep my shots to 30 or closer. Im ok with that. Just have to pattern it and see what works. I did shoot some remington game loads size 6 and at 25 yards it was fairly decent pattern.
  20. Looking to see if anyone knows of a decent gunsmith that can thread a barrel for choke use? At the same time i dont want to get raked over the coals to have it done. Any thoughts?
