  1. Thanks guys! I forgot to measure it, but it's right around 60"-62".
  2. Finished up the second side and just need to touch up the feet and attach the tail to the bird now. I want to carve something in the base but not sure what yet. Not even sure how I'll finish this one yet to be honest with ya's, but I've got some time to think about it before I get ahead of myself..
  3. I really appreciate the feedback guys! I've been told I'm overly critical of my own work so sometimes I tend to look at the minor imperfections more than the final piece as a whole. That's just my way of trying to improve the best I can I suppose. Thanks for following along, and hope I'm not boring anybody with this stuff this winter!
  4. Oh man, you got some serious issues! Nobody needs 8 recurves to kill a deer, lol And stop using your shoes for target practice! Pretty bow man!
  5. Adding some details to the first side. Still have the entire other side to do.., need to attach and carve a tail.., finish doing whatever I'm gonna do to the base.., finish the feet.., and a bunch of other good stuff on the head.
  6. I used to get pulled over at least once every other week for some of the stupidest things. Nobody ever told me your bumper had to be a certain height. Eventually my fines and tickets were using up all my minimum wage cash at the time and I couldn't afford any more junk for my clunker! I didn't need to draw any more attention to myself with fuzzy dice at that point, lol
  7. Back around 1992 or so, I had a Cavalier that me and a buddy turned into a low-rider. We clamped the springs in the rear and cut the coils in the front. At that point it had ZERO suspension! Ground clearance under the door was 2 inches.... just enough for my neon lights to shine through! That sucker cornered like it was on a rail, but it didn't fair so well if there was a crack in the pavement or once the snow started flying, lol. The sound system was killer though. Like a rolling night club inside, and no room for fat chicks, lol
  8. LOL- I rarely ever used to see my neighbor, but now he stops over just about every day to see what's going on! He brings me wood and helps with cutting down trees, so we're pretty tight now! I've got a few from last summer left, but they're nothing fancy.
  9. Little more progress today.
  10. Thanks men! I just make them and set them aside until someone comes along who likes/wants them. This way I get to do my own thing with no pressure to meet anyone elses expectations. As you can probably tell by the first pic, I don't put much time or effort into drawing out my ideas onto the wood, lol. I just keep carving away until I feel like I've taken them far enough. I'll post more pics when I'm finished and if you're still interested just let me know.
  11. Took lil Billy out after the rain this morning to look for some eagles. He found one soaring in a big ol' beech log so we took a few pics of todays father-son time spent together. I hate to play favorites, but little Billy is probably my favorite of all my kids! So strong and fast, and eats like a horse! His work blocking out is done for now, and he's a real natural at this stuff. Tomorrow I'll take the other bratts out and beat on them for a bit,lol
  12. I'm still admiring his sweet un-scuffed shine and innocence this morning! My babies aren't allowed to play in the rain!
  13. Monica, Hillary, and Bill.
  14. LOL- no doubt.., we need to start carrying protection in our wallets!
  15. Brought another one home from the orphanage today! 10.1lb , 18" rippin' baby boy! I don't know how this keeps happening to me,lol
  16. I'd shoot the horse and let her ride me,lol
  17. Years ago my wife took me Christmas shopping at the Galleria. I had tied on a pretty good buzz before we left and maintained it throughout the spree. We separated at some point so I could wander off to the jewelers by myself to pick up her gift and agreed to meet back at the truck. When I finished up with my business and made my way out to the parking lot, I discovered she ditched me and took off without me. I hiked my ass home in the snow for almost 10 miles (this was before either of us had cell phones) where I found her sitting at home gossiping with her cousin about 3 hours later. Boy did we ever get into a mall BRAWL that night before it was determined the dumber of us two was looking for the truck in the wrong parking lot, and she HAD actually been sitting there waiting for me in the original spot for two hours before she took off without me. I was so pissed she didn't even call the cops to report I had been kidnapped or abducted, lol I haven't been back to that place since!
  18. LOL- the eraser broke off my pencil and I cut on the wrong lines!
  19. Trying something a little different today. May keep it as a simple wall hanger, or may save it for the back of a small outdoors bench and will have to carve some fishing themed sides and seat for it. I always see things I could/should have added or done differently after I finish the first one, so I may just start over and kill it on the next one. Anyhow..., not bad for my first bluegill!
  20. That's funny...., but they are a seriously dangerous tool attachment. I told myself I'd never buy one or even pick one up to try for that matter, and then someone who I thought loved me bought me one for x-mas. Now I feel obligated so just taking it nice and slow with this sucker. Gonna try to make some salad bowls with it,lol.
  21. Thanks again everybody! Had a nice quiet day playing with my saws and my new "wheel of death"! Probably wont have fingers to type with by next years B-day thanks to this thing, so thanks in advance for future wishes as well, lol
