  1. thats cool, i have a bushnel IR cam. i might hvae to try the video function...
  2. nice buck, what trail cam is that? takes nice IR video...
  3. the game tracker is a small barrel of string attached to the bow that when the deer runs off it pulls string from the barrel to help INEXPERIENCED hunters find there game... Or ones who clearly put horrible shots on animals like the guy who arrowed that deer. thats crazy that the deer had to have that shaft sticking out of his neck for what might have been a few weeks... even it if was a few days thats pretty bad. Thats what you call not being able to properly place a shot and not being patient enough for the buck to present a good shot for one to take. thats part of the thrill is being able to place your arrow properly, ive had nice bucks that would come in and offer me no GOOD shot, i let them walk off. thats why the sport is called hunting , NOT killing... at least you were able to take that deer out of the heard and do the ethical thing.
  4. Cool video! was that from a trail cam? i wonder which one if it was...
  5. Actually it might not be a bad idea to have a recipe section on this site designated for cooking wild game. Just a thought!
  6. bring it out in the woods... camo pillow camo blanket your set! lol
  7. Welcome! you will like it here
  8. good pics dave! what do you think that one brute has a 18/19" spread? he will look nice on the wall in the fall huh?
  9. ive always heard og nice deer coming out of Tioga county... a buddy of mine shot 2 nice 10s 1 year both 130". but ive heard of alot bigger there. think a guy shot a 170 last year?
  10. pretty cool... yeah ive seen that site before it just doesnt look like new bucks were added in quite some time.
  11. cover is great for deer, especially near a food source. Now if you put a small watering hole in near that plot and have enough cover near by where deer can feel comfortable and safe transitioning between the 3 now you have yourself a little honey hole... but for strip plots, if you can open the canopy up a little bit and shed some light on your freshly planted foodplot, that would be that much more beneficial for you come deer season...
  12. WOW that one is HUGE! cool pics!
  13. i will prob be hanging 2 stands soon... i have been meaning to get em up but havnt had tomuch time the past week.
  14. i have a few older bows from when i was younger... i shoot a Matthews Switchback XT (70#) i love Matthews...
  15. that deer has some mass! the drop tines are awesome
  16. Ive used Biologic: Maximum, Hotspot, Lab Lab, trophy oats and a few other blends. the deer by me seemed to really like the Maximum and trophy oats.
  17. a good rule of thumb for trail plots is if you have weeds or brush or anything growing in that spot already then there is adequate light to support the growth of your planting. If the ground is bare and mostly dirt and it seems like it would be an easy planting for you chances are it might but that spot may also not get enough sun to grow a strip plot....
  18. might be a younger buck or one warn down from the rut... cool pic in any event.
  19. oh i dont make my presence known when im in there and i do 2 back to back days and back out for a week or so... plus ive been decenting all my clothes and taking my decent showers before going in. i am trying to disturb as little as possible in hopes these deer dont change there pattern to much so i can hopefully get the drop on em come October. Plus i am heading over to the opposite side of the farm tonight. But thanks for the advise! i appreciate the look out. i hope i can get one of these bruisers down on the ground come this fall.
  20. he is a brute, hes every bit of high 140 nice shots!
