Do we have any car guys in here? If so what do you have?
Geno C replied to Geno C's topic in General Chit Chat
nice rides guys i like the black look on the stang. Beleive it or not my car drives almost like stock, aside from the change in the tone and spooling of the turbo around town. Until you tip into boost, it feels like the hands of god grab the back end of the car and shove it down the road. When the 2 44mm wastegates open up it sounds like the work is coming to an end... i have a video of the car doin g to street pulls on 14lbs which was just about 500rwhp on pump gas. It was a very conservative tune and has plenty of timing left to make atleast another 100rwhp opn pumo if i want... you can here the turbo spool and then the wategates open. The video quality is a bit on the bad side, a buddy used a canon point and shoot. so... -
o ok, yeah i figured it was due to speed. i made sure it was small tho. no big deal eitherway tho. let me know if things change.

from bow site right? yes that was me come to think of it... i thought the name sounded familiar. No, i have kind of put it on hold for a bit. I decided to join a hunting club for now. I still have my eye open for some land tho, just not really taking the time to look. Just waiting for the right location/price.

Do you wear Orange? If so why? If not Why not? :)
Geno C replied to TheHunter's topic in General Hunting
i dont wear orange during bow or anything like that. But i do wear an orange hat during gun season and then when i get to my stand i take it off and swap it for my camo. I always hunt private land where me and my dad are the only hunters allowed to hunt and i never really see any other hunters close by. I prob should be wearing a vest... i usually always hunt in a tree stand so once im settled in i put my orange hat off to the side and out my full camo face mask on. -
thats pretty funny... i guess that works?

thanks guys! does anyone know how long this site has been running for?

i am not shocked about people smoking in stand at all... i know plenty who have and do. its not surprising how many hunters actually do tho. but a topic is brought up for other to chime in there experiences / opinions. the good and the bad.... its not a bad thing, im sure there are plenty hunters who dont and wont. i wonder if there are any hunters who smoke but put that crave on hold while in stand and then light up after?? does anyone do that? just curious.

i know its crazy! i could not fathom getting in trouble for shooting a squirrel in my backyards, its stupid... i laughed when i read it in the paper. -
No thats great. All of that info i bet comes in very handy plus its nice to be able to go back and read through it and what not. Do you make stand changes and also determine which stands you want to hunt according to previous data from the year b4?? even tho it may vary year to year.

Scent control alone does not make you scent free, so you still have to play the wind. If you really, honestly think about it, how many deer (record book deer) were taken before the day and age of scent control and modern camo? Back in the day guys were taking big bucks by playing the wind. Dont get me wrong, I try to minimize my scent as much as possible, but it makes no difference how much time and money you spend on it, youll never completely get rid of it. Like Doc, I cant say for sure how many deer I didnt see while I was smoking, but I can give you good estimates of how many I did see. oh i agree completely BUT every little bit helps... hunters were harvesting big bucks before all this scent control came about. However now with the technology we have out now that can minimize as much human scent as possible and help capitalize on a nice deer or even deer in general, why not do it right? There are plenty of guys who have smoked a cigeret and propboly killed a huge buck while doing so, but whats the odds? does it happen everyday? probobly not. It only takes one buck in the zone runnning through on a hot doe who can careless of his surrounding becasue hes got one thing in mind and that hunter can be doing anything at that given moment and he might just be lucky enough to take that animal. Anything is possible... thats the beauty about deer hunting, you never know when things can happen and it can happen quick, even if the hunter is moving around alot, smoking a cig, going #2, talking loud on the phone. These occurences could happen once in alife time tho to any hunter. I just do what i can to maximize my hunt and give myself an edge on seeing more deer. But yes wind is a very big factor and you may not ever be able to kill human scent 100%. but i will tell you right now, i havnt had a deer down wind catch wind of me in a very long time since i have been controlling my scent. i cant even remeber the last time i was winded by a deer, well atleast that i could visually see in eye shot.

I was just wondering, i did have a Sig but it looks like it was taken away? are we not allowed to have one? If not why have the option to create and upload a Signature? Or is it just photos we can not have in the sigs?

I think regardless of diet, 99% or better of the spikes you see are at least a 1 1/2 yo. A fawn with spikes about never happens. . So which is it? Either you shoot 1 1/2 bucks or you don't. I really don't care either way - just trying to figure out what you are saying. It appears that you will shoot a nicer 1 1/2 to fill a tag, but not a spike 1 1/2. That doesn't make sense to me - again, I don't care, just trying to understand. And no, I don't shoot 1.5 or even anyhing I think is 3.5 - by choice, but I have a lot of opportunities and tags for does. . i thought i about summed it up on your question Steve... I guess not. I usually never shoot year and half old deer "unless" if yopu read my answer in the last post. In any event i agree with you, i enjoy taking does. I try to take a few does each year. I dont know if it just me but sometimes during the rut i find the does especially the ones that get in close a bit more of a challenge. they seem to be a little more alert then the bucks during the rut. sometimes a little more challenging. Not sure if it just me who thinks this... and again, i dont want to come off the wrong way, i was not trying to stir the pot, i may have been unclear on what i was thinking...

Air Guns for Small Game
Geno C replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
yeah i heard this as well. i read in my paper a few weeks ago and elderly man was arrested after shooting a squirl in his back yard with a pellot gun. heres the add http://www.newsday.com/long-island/crime/e-northport-man-81-gets-30-days-in-squirrel-killing-1.1926765 -
I have to ask - will you shoot a 1 1/2 year old 4, 6 or 8 point? If so, why do you pass a spike that is most likely the same age? yes it is rare but you dont think its possible depending on the diet a deer may have at hand? maybe i worded that wrong, i really mean a spike that maybe a year old... I tend to lay off smaller deer and it would really depend on how my season is going all toegther to be honest. If i have not had many cracks at nice bucks and i feel my season coming to an end i would take a 1 1/2 4, 6 or 8 sure. However, its my perogative, i just do not shoot spike horns. To each is own and that something i just do not do. I do have the pleasure of seeing nice deer in the woods and i also spend enough time in my stands to do so. I tend to see smaller deer taken by hunters who either will shoot anything, have limited season due to work life or home life and tryuly want to put meet in the freezer. that statement about not shooting spikes was in no way shape or form knocking any hunter who does. I know plenty who do. So to answer your question, NO i do not shoot them. do you?
