Never throw out any expired coupons from Dicks. They will accept them now matter how old they are. I used one a few months back that was over a year old and they took it. I asked the guy at the register and he said they have always done this.

While I am all for the 2nd amendment. I think we do need stricter gun control. With that being said, I wanted to post a pretty cool quote I read today. It was something to the effect of Blaming this latest tragedy on the "Gun" is like blaming this nations obesity problem on the "fork"

I hurt inside for a number of reasons. First for the people that were lost in this tragic killing and the innocent people we have lost in the past to the same situation. The killing of innocent people goes so against my thought process, I find it hard to understand. Second I hurt for this country, for no other time in the past do we seem adrift as now, energy, jobs, health care and gun control. It seems it's always a battle to get to where you want to go. You are supposed to look up to the people that lead you and guide you but now all they do trash each other to get the upper hand. I am a Dad, I am a hard working American, I am a Democrat, I am a gun owner and I hunt. Being a Dad I'm watching my two young daughters grow into something I could never imagine possible. Having a child is a blessing, it's a breath of new life in your sole. Then you look into their eyes and see all they have to endure. My 8 year old had to be sat down this week so we could talk to her about her feelings dealing with the shooting. I never remembered that growing up. My 13 year old the same thing but you can talk about a plan of action because they are of age. Republicans, Democrats, NRA the 2nd amendment, I really don't care. We all need to come together to pass some good laws, in the names of the the slain individuals. I don't want all guns banned. We need to educate,
train and if need be register gun owners. We need to find some common ground where we can all be proud and say we are Americans!!!!!
You can poke holes in this any way you like, i just needed to write it and share.

I find it funny that danc0320 started this thread as reminding everyone to keep an open mind and be civil when debating and yet somehow this thread evolved into a gun-ban debate.
Great point you have. I have been a member on this site for about a 1/2 a year but do not spend much time on here until this past weekend. I have been checking out a lot of the differnent forums and topics and it seems like one particular person jumps into any amazing amount of them and just keeps trying to push his views. Most of the people do seem civil and have an open mind so I still believe in the human sprit.

And again, there you are lying about my replies, and you know it. There is nothing in my reply that talks about anyone on this site. What is the matter with you that you are trying to keep saying that. You know that it is untrue and yet you keep purposely lying about that. Have you no integrity? I hope the problem is that you are not (or cannot) really reading my replies. That at least would make up a reasonable excuse for what otherwise can only be interpretted as simple lying.
Look, I guess you win on this one. I cannot carry on a conversation with someone who makes up untrue quotes. At the very least, I can only debate with someone who has some bit of integrity. I have to admit that your dishonest style of debate is something that I have never encountered and apparently is quite effective at shutting down conversation. So congratulations .... I guess. Please stop lying about my words. I even went to the trouble of re-quoting what I said and yet you still insist on saying that it was about people on this site. I will repeat that I did not include any words about people on this site. The first time you misquoted that it may have been a mistake. The second time it is a lie. The connection with someone on this site was first made by you when you became so indignant and began to defend these people. You put yourself in that bucket .... I didn't.
As far as this thread never ending, I will say that I am only reacting to each of your posts. You seemed to have made a career out of attacking me and my opinion about the people that exploit these kinds of tragedies for their own agenda. That is your choice not mine.
As far as your contention that I have alienated some people, imagine what people must think of you to be defending those that thrive on exploiting tragedy for their own ends. If I alienate those that believe that such callous exploitation is proper conduct, then I guess that probably is no big loss. I am even more sorry that there are people that believe that defending these people is the right thing to do. I find no possible defense for those that would exploit tragedies of any kind just to further their political causes. And I don't apologize for that nor do I find any common ground with those that do.
OK I have no idea where you think I defended those who exploit this type of tragedy. Its simply not true and no where in any of my post is there any indication to that. Normally I would take huge offense to that but I can see that you just love this back and forth bickering so I will bow out now. If you want to continue with your constant negative post go argue with some of the other people you have irritated on this thread. You are the type of person I really try to avoid being around in my personal life. There is just too much negativity in this world. Of course there will always be people that will exploit tragedies. To say the are happy about it and celebrating this tragedy with high fives and grins is an incredible stupid thing to say.

Frankly I know that the people noted are rabid fanatical gun control advocates that have spent decades doing whatever they can to eliminate guns. It is their life's ambition and they hope it to become a part of their legacy. Yes, I believe that they are perfectly willing and happy to exploit this tragedy for their own agenda. And as a matter of fact they have begun already. I am sure that they feel sorry for the lives lost, but will not hesitate for even a minute to exploit the situation for their own benefit and the furtherance of their ambitions and agenda. And the proof is in their immediate enthusiastic reactions. They are not wasting a minute of this opportunity and most likely had a response already prepared and a plan in place for this event even before it happened.
Wow I guess I should have read your last couple of statements before i responded to you in my last post. You believe people on this site had prepared responses and a plan in place for this????? Do you realize there is not one post on this entire thread where anyone is even remotely wqriting anything that resembles what you are claiming. Show me on post Doc where someone here had a "immediate enthusiastic reaction", etc. Go away.

What is wrong with you? Lets let this post die off. Go back and read this whole thread and it seems like a lot of talk about people with an Anti agenda but no one is really on here fighting for that. There is a lot from you defending yourself and your beliefs though. You are the one who made the statement that some people on this site look forward to that type of news. I have a hard time believing even someone who is completely Anti-Gun would ever wish this to further their agenda. Do you really believe people on this site were happy when they heard 20 children were killed? let me know your answer? Talk about exploiting a situation. How many post have you made on this topic since it started? I have already stated I have received numerous private messages from people on this subject. In everyone of them I am told to keep at it with" you "and that this is your M O and to be honest you are not painted in a very good light. This thread was moving in a positive direction lets keep it that way. Go find something else to do today. You have spent the better part of this past weekend on here trying to drive home your point and I think you have alienated a lot of people. In spite of this i wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and hope you have a happy and healthy new year., I am a bowhunter 100% I do not gun hunt but I absolutely have no problem with anyone that does and I am all for the 2nd amendment.

I made a comment about those who exploit the deaths of innocent children and others as opportunities to further their anti-gun agenda. And for some reason, you have identified yourself with them and taken offense at that statement. What does that say about you? Will you kindly just take just a second and answer that one question? What exactly is your point in defending these people? What is the connection between you and them? I frankly find that activity repulsive. Apparently you feel a need to defend that kind of thing. Why?
Look, if you feel some need (for pages and pages) to defend those that look forward to seizing the opportunity to exploit tragedy, and even if you see yourself as one of them ..... knock your socks off. Have a good Chritmas Tughill. I am sure we could sit down and have a cool conversation about hunting. We both share that passion. I am not happy with some of my post and sitting behind a computer trying to have these types of conversations is not the best way of going about it.

Well I am just so done with this. So much negativity here. Looks very apparent to me that Doc has dug a pretty big hole for himself. I thank everyone who has sent me private messages with your support. I will say say what you all said is very true. These moderators don't like what they hear and its just one post after another of them trying to stick together and wear you down, ex. We will ban you from this site if you keep it up. I even had one tell me tonight that even though one of his friends was being very negative with me it was because I provoked him. Amazing that grown men will sit here for hours on this site just trying to push their agenda on us over and over again. If you surround yourself with positive energy you are usually positive same goes for negative energy and man has that been proven here.

Well I am 44 years old and i have been hunting deer for 28 years so taken 8 bucks that are over 125 does not seem that hard to believe . I have pics of all of them and nothing to prove to . I know people who have taken alot more than 8 P&Y bucks. Anywhere? I have friends in the the midwest that kill P&Y every year. Its not that uncommon out there. My bucks score between 133 and 151 for the record. Did not want to make a big deal out of it but thought it was a good way to show the guy with the men are better attiude thats not the case.

Wow are you really that out of touch. Sorry I did not respond sooner but I was out today living my life not sitting at the computer all day like a few of you overachievers. I never brag about the bucks I shoot. In fact I keep the information about the bucks I shoot pretty much to a small select group of friends beause I have delt with this same exact male ego nonsense before. I have never put a pic of any of the bucks on this type of website and have never entered them in P&Y because I do not need the attention. I am not saying I am against someone who does just not my thing. I brought it up to sits in trees in response to his sexiest and condescending post to me where he tried pulling the men are superiour to woman crap. Apprently your a liitle slow and did/could not pick up that in his post so what better time to let him know that I have killed bigger bucks than him than after a sexiest post like that. Now you and your highy intellicual friend from Tug Hill want to think I shot them High Fence or that I am lying even better. Great! Makes me feel that much better knowing that it gets under your skin because you were "chicked".

Yes women are like that, so useless at grasping the important things in life. I guess we will just have to relegate them to the the less taxing and unimportant things like having children, raising families, caring for the sick, running major corporations, fighting overseas for our national security and on and on...................

the poster Popit is a women, and women do tend to get more emotional than men in situations like this one in Connecticut. i have also found that many women dont really grasp the real reasoning behind the second ammendment even if they are hunters like Popit, and when you try to explain why we need the second ammendment to remain untouched because of things like tyrannical governments and social unrest/disorder that they cant seem to grasp that type of situation and think your over the top for even talking about it.
Many American women have been lulled into a false sense of security because things have been so good here in our country for a long while now. But when you look back in the not so long ago history of other westernised cultures and even the USA you will see that there is only a thin vail between civilization and total anarchy and i think its every mans duty to explain this to the women in his life, without being too creepy of course....

A way to fight back- Petition to keep Saratoga Gun Show

This story has been picked up by some local television stations and papers. Its getting more press everyday. Earlier this week a woman from Saratoga started a petition to have an upcoming gun show canceled. She has been able to get over 1,000 signatures in a few days. Just yesterday another gentleman started a petition in support of keeping the gun show. If you go to change.org and type in Saratoga gun show in their search you will be able to access either petition and sign one. The petition to keep the gun show is approaching 800 signatures in just one day.
