3 acres with the right equipment isn't that hard to keep mowed you could also plant apple and pear trees and draw the deer to you with a stand on the backside of your property sometime in the coming years when the trees develop, nothing like a good bow spot close to home ..

My grandfather used to have a sugar shack up in Malone on the farm good memories...

I don't hunt there anymore but had a spot in Ithaca. NY that the deer liked to go to die,, It was a water hole at the top of the hill and could find a nice buck there every year ... This spot was at the top of the hill and they would never be visible,, and this would be spot they would too..

The 8 was 123 the 10 I never had scored the 12 was 143 5/8 if I remember the sheet is at my camp and that was non Typical

Well I give you this,, if it's scored non typical because of the odd tine then it will score higher.. I have a a twelve point with double brows that I'm comparing too as they scored both ways

That's a great buck no doubt but quite a few deductions on that rack I would be surprised if he scored what you say,, you should have it scored by someone other than yourself,, I've had two done and I'm not on board... That said it's a real nice deer JMO

I'm not sure where you are hunting but I hunt some pressured areas of private land and the deer don't go nocturnal they change feeding behavior and time schedules as the season progress which means you have to change yours to see deer...

Agreed....... I go there once a year to a motorcycle show and its a beautiful state ..

Ohio has a different climate than here and more deer,, I was talking to my friend the other night who used to hunt years ago about what his thoughts where about the deer population, he works on commercial boulers and drives all over Ohio and adjoining states to get to his job.. He said its not uncommon to see a dead deer on the road once a week year round in Ohio and drving down the highway he sees deer on a regular basis in groups all the time,,, mostly does, he states he doesn't see many bucks and usually not big ones but he says the state is overrun with does ..he also said he saw a big one hit last week in the middle of the city which struck him odd as to its location...

Because you try to impose your beliefs on hunting to be the best and come across as the only way it should be done and pass judgement with statements like knuckheads ruining it,,, who put you in charge ...

So Ohio thats had this in effect for 40 years and was / is a destination for hunters from out of staye because of the deer population and chance if a good buck.. Has what to blame for a track record the crossbow it seems just the opposite of what everyone is complaining about except Ohio is now experiencing a swarm of out of state hunters .. Just making observations not opinions or judgements

So the biggest complaint that seems to stand out is poaching is going to be the biggest problem with full inclusion and the ease of killing deer with the crossbow and that together is going to destroy bow hunting in NY what else am missing.. Ohio has the same harvest take over a long period of time seemingly taking more deer in the archery season than gun season...

Is that a 10 or 9 point ? Lots of deductions on that rack Im not sure that would score 125 ..

Crossbows have been legal in Ohio since 1976 nothing new there...

Actually I just considered my self a deer hunter thats what Im doing according the game book when pursing deer...

I guess im not a gun hunter because I use a bow or not a real gun hunter cause I don't exclusively use a muzzleloader ... blah blah blah ..
