My Daughter is coming home from college, to hunt the weekend. My son and I will be hunting with her. May hunt a different area one of the days. I'll be out the week of Muzzle Loader.

I think in my area there are a couple reasons. Everyone is saying hard winter, I remember some bad winters followed by excellent hunting seasons. I think it is a factor due to a lower population already. Years back deer Yarded up, The old showed and helped the young how to survive. I was seeing a break down of Family units of deer & lack of numbers to yard. I remember having a steady 15-20+ yarded up on my place, they'd browse young buds, and leaf even some soft tree bark. I'd watch them pack the snow down and walk around until the hit grass, spot to spot. The other thing that changed in my area is the large farms have changed hands. Where once there were only 1-2 guys hunting and shot only what they needed. To now brown its down over the last couple years, and its starting to show. I have Amish that hunt now in 6-10 groups or more, if you let a Fawn pass into a field to feed it gets shot. There are not many conservationist that hunt in my area. My dad always stressed to kill only what we ate, leave a hold over for the next. Watch your land and hunt it but hunt it smart with next year in mind. I don't think I could say its just one thing going on.

This is the worse year I can remember. Seen 3 doe in Oct on our land. Held out seen another 1wk gun and that has been it. 36 Amish & a couple trespassers. I hunted 3 different areas 7j,7r,7m below avg rut sign in all this year too. Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk

You know I stopped getting dragged into these type threads, but you got me. Your separating a non victory, as most anti's will. The minute a gun case don't get heard, its a win against the NRA? a win for Anti Gun people such as your self. Now I don't always agree with the NRA's approach, but if they have you and the President on your toe's. I think I'll donate some cash, while I have the check open the GOA will get a donation too. Lets face it reality, Gun Control is not the answer. The CA Shooters, were stopped by good guys with Guns. They used guns to kill innocent people in a Gun free zone. Imagine a Gun free America, the amount of Victims that there will be! I can never understand why a Gun owner and hunter would embrace the Party that wants to disarm them. Think about the erosion of freedoms over the last 7yrs of Democratic Party. Harry Reid has stop more good bills for the best interest of the American People. The POTUS blame's You and us for the acts of others. If Gun control happens across America, there are going a whole lot more Killings. Ask yourself why would our so called Leader would want to make ISIS war easier, instead of harder. The Democrats & Liberal Progressives want to disarm an army while at war? take away ones right for self protection? Gun Control is away to make more victims.

Nice weather but the Amish were out by the field with ligths well thery gutted a deer not far from my stand. Forget about posted signs and talking. The game warding won't do shit.
