Tattooing and piercing your pets, anyone who is stupid enough to do something like that should have to answer to a judge so they can be asked WTF is wrong with you? The big cats thing I have to wonder about but until I hear the full story I'll hold judgment on that.

The DEC is a Gov agency that I like and cuts to the dept won't be good for hunters and sportsman in NYS. Poaching and other illegal activities will be on the upswing without the threat of a strong DEC force patrolling our woods.

As a lad we used to pick squirrels out of the tree tops with our 22lrs and even 22mags. Back in the day there was a lot more open space around us and we never really worried where our bullets would end up. I'm seriously thinking about doing a little squirrel hunting again but have to wonder if taking those tree top shots is something squirrel hunters are still doing? What are you guys doing, just wondering?

Interesting here in the Hudson Valley a couple of gun shops tell me they have had the stuff on order since Feb and just can't get it and then others tell me oh yes we have plenty of it? What have been your experiences..

I think we are looking at a skilled shooter no doubt, your average deer hunter would have a hard time doing that free hand with a scoped 3006 rifle.

Look into some of the steel buildings available out there, very competitive $ and actually cheaper and much easier building, I have seen several 20 x 30 x 12 or even bigger put up in a day by 3 men.

AR is heavy and awkward to carry in the deer woods for me, I just like the feel and carry of a bolt gun for hunting and I can keep it around 7Lbs scope and all for all day carry. Although if we ever ran into a situation where we had flesh eating zombie deer roaming the woods by the hundreds then the AR or even better AK platform would be my 1st choices.
