  1. Correct. It is not. It is shouldered, aimed, and shot like a gun. General season it is. hey Slinger, your like bad gas, no one wants to smell you or hear you and you're more than likely backed up by alot of crap which your opinions show all too clearly all you self righteous nudniks sitting hear flappin your gums about how some healthy guy might sneak by and get a crossbow permit, HAA! pretty soon theres going to be thousands of healthy guy's hunting your deer during bow season with crossbows, so stop wasting your time blowing this out of proportion. real hunters support this bill because it could get guy's with disabilities into the woods during bow season with a crossbow as soon as this year
  2. More failed logic. If we extend your reasoning, we would all need to go out into the woods with ...... a gun. Crossbows do not belong in bow season. you might wanna change yer name from "arrow flinger" to "Turd Slinger". ???
  3. Yeah, let's just let everybody decide which weapon to use during any season...lol That' why we have to abide by the NY regs as designated by the DEC. If it were my call, I would say use whatever weapon you choose, and just call it deer season..that would put all this nonsense to rest. Heck, why even have a season...take a deer whenever you want..is anybody getting the drift here? hey Spiker, come back when you grow some horns and gain some usable knowledge ???
  4. anything to hinder big tobacco is fine with me, besides it might keep these slob arsed cigarette smokers from littering the streets with their lovely cigarette butts. tired of seeing those things all over the streets and in front of every building entrance way.
  5. this is a method i think they should use to end these high speed car chases quickly and safely.
  6. OK. The rest of the lazy guys...no way. i'll PM you a list of some anti hunting/animal rights groups you might be interested in joining.
  7. State land deer hunting is as good as the population of deer it holds. as far as i know deer can't distinguish wether they're standing on state land or private land. NY state has added 100s of thousands of acres of state lands in the last couple decades. so gone are the days when every Brooklyn NY hunter was hunting the Catskill Forest preserve, that along with dwindling hunter numbers in our state, opportunities on state land today are very good if not better than private land. i personally hunt about 20 thousand acres of state land combined with hunting my own property, and i don't know of many guy's that own tens of thousands of acres for hunting anymore. deer get moved off of an area of heavily hunted private land as quickly as any land. today deer get moved off of over hunted private land just to find security in the large tracts of state land that NY provides. there so few hunters hunting the state land in my area, i never saw more than 3 or 4 parking to hunt an area that stretches for miles.
  8. Or ......... do a 20 man march . That is quite funny actually! With a little trick photography they can make it look like there was a mass of humanity there in support. yea there was no trick photography needed up in Albany last spring when the NY bowhunters (only about 3 of them) stood outside in a lobby to protest crossbow inclusion right along with an anti hunting group...
  9. here's something for the anti x-bow crowd to get their panties in a bunch about ;D
  10. a high priced black crossbow does not a successful hunter make "Grasshopper" you should consider a good used Chinese model first my son LOL. and you can only be truly reverver by your counterparts when you yourself find the truth thru Research my son.
  11. finding lost dogs usually comes down to doing alot of local legwork, pooches rarely just stay in the woods, they wander to the sounds of neighbors/people.
  12. you just have to remember one thing, if you want every one to have the right to carry, then everyone will have the right to carry. look around you next time your out in public or with your kids where people gather and really think about it. i for one am not too sure?
  13. i couldnt imagine why anyone would want to feed black bears anyway? it's the last critter you want snooping around your property.
  14. do the research and learn my child... to be led like a blindered horse walking down the avenue never seeing the wonders that are really around you is no way to go thru life.
  15. Or ......... do a 20 man march . yes sleep my little child, sleep, or maybe you should wake up and look at the numerous polls recently taken by NY hunters that are vastly in favor of using the crossbow during your bow season. another feeble attempt by a self centered hunter who thinks his woods are going to be soiled by them thar foul crossbowers!!!
  16. the way i look at this whole thing is it's just a bill that might help out some hunters who are in their 50s or 60s with arthritic shoulders or tendonitis get into the woods with a weapon that can humanley and effectively harvest a deer. this would be a very good alternative to having to use a 35lb bow with very limited range and low KE. all in all this bill it is just something that might give some of these older guys a jump by maybe a year or 2 until we finally do get full inclusion in NY state. so to sit there and argue about teens jumping into mustangs with handicapped stickers and your own little version of how disabled a guy must be to hunt with a crossbow is all just plain silly. i would think most of you would be guy's that favor the 2nd amendment and alittle less state and gov regulation is good, especially when it come to giving hunters options on what weapon they want to hunt with????
  17. this is pure nonsense dude. i have to call "stinky's" on this one. first off the guy's i see driving these new Stangs are mostly in their 50s, i think the 40k pricetag has much to do with that, not too many teens buying Stangs n Vettes anymore. oh and then he hopped over the closed door into the drivers seat, Now Really??LOL. your story is amusing but lacks any fact, just admit it your Doc under another screen name!!! lets just keep this thread to facts not fairy tale theories now that Doctor Doom has left the building
  18. they will always grope for MONEY!! Land goup to discuss new plan by state on forest drilling http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/persbilde?Avis=TH&ID=244&maxH=47[/img] By Adam Bosch Published: 2:00 AM - 01/18/11 NEW WINDSOR — A land coalition will meet this week to discuss New York's new forest plan, which leaves the door open to natural-gas drilling on state forest lands. The Stewart Park and Reserve Coalition will discuss the plan Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church on Route 94 in New Windsor. Stewart State Forest is not in the possible drilling area, but SPARC wants to join other conservation groups opposed to forest drilling. [email protected]
  19. "WOW" for a guy who's been ignoring me thats a pretty intense reply..i'm doing nothing more than arguing the facts, yes with you mostly, and you resort to attacking me personally and calling me a jerk, now, now. i'm just shining a light on your sky is gonna fall theories and whats gonna happen if hunters with disabilities are able to hunt with a crossbow, or even God forbid having NY hunters have the right to choose to use a crossbow during regular bow season, and your spinning these BS fairytales about auto loading crossbows, and firearms in bow season. you make a big stink over nothing, when the facts dont work you just try and blow up a huge smoke cloud in your feeble attempt to confuse the issue, well it won't work DR Doom, give NY hunters alittle more credit than that, we are not stupid...LOL and so forth
  20. heres who we must contact fellas, sponsers and cosponsers of bill A00469 ..send letters or e-mails in support. heck even give em a call!! Aileen M. 21. Somehow I don't think that's where they were going with the idea when they allocated the cash to develop that feature. Doc, my comment was said in jest. In any event, it seems like that sort of crossbow represents a "concept Crossbow" akin to an automakers concept car. Such a weapon would probably not be accepted as a legal hunting implement but as a marketing tool it serves their purpose quite well (we are talking about it and can reference the company who invented it, its a win win situation for the manufacturer). Yes, you're right. We are both guessing about where this new crossbow might lead. My point is simply that just as the compound never stayed at the same technological level as the old Allen, What you are seeing in a crossbow today is nothing compared with the logical progression that it is bound to undergo. This auto cocking device is only an indicator that they are beginning to think along those lines already and that they have absolutely no intention of keeping the crossbow technology along the lines of what you see today. And consequently, my comment about "....and so it begins". Because surely this is only the beginning. By the way, in terms of legal limitations, remember that the initiator of legal exceptions is not a responsibility of the crossbow manufacturers. Someone is going to have to be monitoring every new design and legally proving that innovations move the weapon outside the official definition of a crossbow before they can be deemed illegal. That doesn't sound like a very cheap process, and most likely they will be given great latitude just as the compounds were. So I wouldn't look to the law to maintain restrictions and controls on just where crossbow technology grows. another engineering wiz here. if you look at the progression of the crossbows used as far back as the 70s yes there has been some improvement, X-bows of the 70s used open sights and had an MV of about 170 fps. compounds of the 70s had an MV of about 170 fps and might have had a crude pin sight setup. not much of a difference Huh??? so to even hint that crossbows will some how morph into some super sonic high tech killing device is stupid at best. for crying out loud man modern compounds are on the verge of 400fps, wake up and learn about the sport of archery alittle man!!!Doc seems your just overcome with this fantasy trip, LOL and so on ;D
  22. Yes, you have to wonder why a company like Parker would waste all that R&D money and marketing cash on something that has no value. there you go with your never ending philosophical bantering again on how the big corps are just dying to get crossbows legal everwhere just so they can lead a charge and eventually have us all hunting with laser beams in your bow season man you gotta get of this fantasy trip dude ??? i'll bet you check under your bed every night before you hit the sack huh? ;D those boogie men are all around us LOL!!!
  23. For bonafide, certified, disabled hunters (registered and documented in any way that makes everyone confortable) that require that level of assistance only ...... I believe you really are starting to get it or at least pieces of it. Man that was a struggle for such a simple concept. yea Doc, the criteria on wether someone is eligible to hunt with a crossbow will be decided by real Doctors, not a keyboard cowboy that calls himself Doc ;D LOL...and besides soon enough everyone will be able to hunt with a crossbow in your beloved bow season anyhow, just the way it should be, so don't waste time getting yourself all worked up on who's "Bonafide" and "CERTIFIED" or not, LOL...
  24. Every rifle, pistol or shotgun carried by small game hunters and Fall turkey hunters. Correction good Doctuer, guns are "NOT" in bow season.... in fact "Bows are in gun season", talk about looking at things with blinders on. my family was hunting small game in oct and nov with shotguns well before there was even the thought of a bow season, yea pheasant and rabbit hunters opened the woods to bow hunters, imagine that.
  25. it's funny how the possibility of inclusion in any form just drives the anti crossbow/NYB guy's nutz. their reasons for not having crossbows in NY state become more outlandish every year as they wear out their old and tired reasons from the previous years. we are already surrounded by states which have full inclusion and some have had it for decades with no ill effects at all. sad how even the idea of giving an older guy with arthritic shoulders a chance to hunt effectively during bow season again is just not acceptable to these wackos?? i love this new one especially about totally healthy hunters running to see their doctors in droves to get a disability note just to be able to hunt with a crossbow, "NOW REALLY", the excuses get lamer every year. yes i said it before and i'm saying it again if you are against crossbow full inclusion or this current bill, your as low down and dirty as any other anti hunter out there.
